Junior Sailing Presentation - Term 1
Last Sunday saw the presentation of our Learn to Sail Tackers program for Term 1. Over 60 kids were enrolled in the Junior Learn to Sail program last term with a full program of Learn to Sail activities from beginners Tackers 1 to our Teenager Learn to Sail program. The club-owned Poly Optimists and Club 420’s were used along with the Laser Picos form Flying Fish.
The Junior Sailing Team of MHYC employed Coaches and Instructors who had their hands full this term with the large group and windy conditions, however the end result was happy kids having fun on the water . The day culminated with the annual crews race for the award of the Roger Brown Memorial Trophy.
The Holidays period will see a week of learn to sail activities followed by the 2nd week of Squad race training in the Optimists, Club 420’s and Laser 4.7.
Term 2 enrolments are being taken for the learn to sail program now. Please contact the Junior Sailing Administrator Meghan Andrew for more information.
