Sydney City Marine Winter Series - Race 9

Race 9 of the Sydney City Marine Winter Series saw another great day of racing- thanks to Chris Meredith for some images taken during the race!  To view Results - click here.

Sydney City Marine Leading Edge Series

For those who wish to keep racing on Saturdays until the 2014/5 program begins in September, the SCM Leading Edge series runs for 5 races from 2 August.

The Leading Edge series features a Clubhouse Start, pursuit racing from 1230, with both Spinnaker and Non Spinnaker divisions, casual and series entrants welcome

Wednesday Series 4 supported by Inner Circle Rum

Race 7 of Series 4 for the 2013-14 season today, Wednesday 16th July, 2014. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours. Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Notice to Members - Film Shoot Thursday & Friday

Members are advised that a film crew will be on site at MHYC tomorrow, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th July. Film trucks will be located in the Members carpark area for both days and overnight on Thursday 17th as they will be filming until the early hours of the morning. We ask for all Members to be patient over these two days.  A parking attendant will keep a log and the first 8 Member cars to arrive will be issued a Council parking ticket and as they depart during the course of the day, the tickets will have to be returned to the Parking attendant and re-issued to the next Member car to arrive, and so on over the course of the two days.

2014/15 Membership Renewals - Renew today to go in the draw to Hamilton Island - closes 31st July

The Membership Renewal Notices for the 2014/15 season have been posted to all Members.  Online renewals are also available through the MHYC website - click here. To be entered in the draw to win an island escape to Hamilton Island, renew before 31st July. (All Members on our direct debit system will automatically be entered).

Mosman Foreshore Parking - The Spit - 50% discount offer available only until tomorrow for first 100!

Mosman Council has advised that the current foreshore parking stickers expiry date have been extended to 20th July. We will be sending our first 100 to Mosman Council tomorrow.  If you are requiring a permit, please complete the online purchase today to ensure you receive the 50% discount.  The next batch, depending on numbers, may only receive a 30% discount.  The cost to Members is $160.  Click here to purchase your parking sticker.

Kid's Disco & Karaoke - Friday 18th July - 6pm-8pm

Bring the kids along for singing and dancing with Bop Till You Drop this Friday 18th July, 2014, in the Quarterdeck room, from 6pm - 8pm.  $10 per child (includes snack and drink).

NSW Premier Mike Baird christens prize yacht in Amazing Grace Raffle

A perfect Sydney day greeted NSW Premier Mike Baird as he arrived at Middle Harbour Yacht Club to officially name the prize Hanse 345 in the Amazing Grace raffle. The yacht raffle with a total prize value of over $250,000 is being organised by the Windcraft Group to raise funds for Sailors with disABILITIES.

Cruising Division Long Lunch

The Cruising Division held their Long Lunch last Sunday - now turning into an annual event!  It was a great afternnon, great food and company.   All of the Cruising Division and Cala Luna crew joined in to wish Scott Saunders all the best. Thanks to everyone that made this year's Long Lunch so much fun. The Naming ceremony for Jean and Noel Parker's new boat, Sanctum, was also held before the lunch.  The next Cruising Division monthly meeting will be held next Monday 21st July, 2014, with a BBQ at 6.30pm folllowed by the meeting and Navigation presentation at 7.30pm.

Flying Fish at MHYC - news for members

From 1st July 2013 Flying Fish will offer a 10% discount to MHYC members who book courses, lessons or hire equipment.

Fish yachts can be chartered bareboat (subject qualifications) or with a skipper. Why not get a group together and get out on the water and experience the magic. Read more....
