Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter. Discounted Mosman Council car parking stickers will be available for online purchase next Wednesday, 5th June, following the adoption of the car parking price at the Council meeting on Tuesday. Stickers will only be available to purchase by booking and paying online at the MHYC website.

Maintenance Volunteers are Kicking Goals

Some of the great work that’s been happening around the Club -

Gordon Ketelby and Neil Simpson have installed a security fence and gates in the cool-room so that the stock of Cala Luna and the Club can be separately controlled. What a good idea!!  This is a low cost high quality job as they used redundant security gates and fencing.

Wednesday Series 3

Series 3 for the 2012-13 season, race 13 & final race for the Series today, Wednesday 29th May, 2013.  Entries are open online - click here. Series 4 begins next Wednesday, 4th June.  Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours.  Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Sydney City Marine Winter Series

Race 5 of Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s Sydney City Marine Winter Series will be held this Saturday 1st june, 2013 – a 10-race series from 4 May to 20 July with a break on 8 and 15 June.

Get "Checked" Weekend - 15th & 16th June 2013 - Book Now!

With the implementation of the new set of YA Special Regulations (Blue Book) coming to effect from 1st July, 2013, the Sailing Committee has programmed for MHYC to run a Get "Checked" Weekend on Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June, 2013. The initiative is to get boats audited under the new Special Regulations (revised every 4 years) in preparation for the major races and regattas in the Winter and Queensland racing season. Fire Extinguisher Servicing

MHYC has organised Graeme Sedgeman of Sedgman Fire to be at the Club to service Member's fire extinguishers. The dates and times are as follows:-

Saturday 21st September 8am - 2pm

Cruising Division June Long Weekend at Sugarloaf

The Crusiing Division's next cruise will be held over the long weekend, 8th-10th June 2013 at Sugarloaf Bay.  The Sugarloaf weekend will also allow Members to have their yachts audited, PDF's, first aid kits and fire extinguishers inspected and have your certificate issued for 2013/14 season.  The raft up will commence in Sugarloaf from 10am on Saturday 8th June.  For more details, click here for the latest Compass Rose.

Spit Championships at MHYC

The Spit Championships for Optis, 420's and Cadets was held last Sunday at MHYC.Due to the weather conditions, only 2 races were run resulting in a non championships series.  An unoffical presentation was still held. It was a great practice run for the NSW East Championships in a couple of weeks!  Click here for results.

Come & See Us at the Mini-Mos

The Mini-Mos Community Fun Run and Fair will be held on Sunday 16th June, 2013, and MHYC will be a stall holder at the community fair. The fair will be held in the grounds of Mosman Public School and features rides and activities for kids of all ages, live music, a range of stallholders from the local community, a café, BBQ, sushi stall, and an abundance of home-made cakes and goodies.  MHYC's stall will primarily be promoting Junior Sailing, as well as all other aspects of the Club. NTC Stage II – Hardstand Extension is underway

The MHYC AST - NTC stage II Hardstand Extension officially broke the soil today with the replacement of the beach ramp. The new ramp is manufactured from Aluminium and finished with wood to match the current style of the deck. The ramp replaces the original ramp access way, which was in desperate need of upgrading, following the growth in Junior Sailing and AST calling MHYC home. The new ramp is also significantly wider and has a shallower gradient to make it easier to pull the boats off the beach. In addition, the gates to B arm will be moved to widen the access point to the ramp.

Seniors Lunch - Sunday 21st July, 2013

Invitiations have been sent to MHYC Members who have been a Member of the Club for 20 years+, inviting them to our annual Senior's Lunch, being held in Cala Luna on sunday 21st July, 2013, from 12 noon.  Our special guest speaker this year will be Gordon (Wingnut) Ingate.  Seats are limited so please send in your booking form or click here to pay online.
