Membership Renewals & Club Refurbishment

First of all we would like to thank all those who have renewed their subscriptions already and especially those who were able to contribute to the refurbishment levy. We are aware that times are tough so that is why we did not raise membership fees this year and did not make the levy mandatory.

Online Entries Now Open!

Online Entries for the new sailing season 2012-13 are now open.  Click here to enter online.
Paper entries will not be available. Online entry demonstrations will be conducted on Wednesday afternoons at reception.  Please contact the Sailing Office for more information. 

Please note that boats entered in 2 or more 'Major' Series at MHYC will be eligible to receive free entry into all the Feature and Trophy Event races. 
The 'Major' Series that qualify are:-

Wednesday Annual Block
Thursday Twilight Series

MHYC Sailing Handbook Now Available

The MHYC Sailing Handbook 2012-13 is now available for collection from reception. Extra copies are now available. 

Spring Pointscore Race 3

Race 3 of the 2012-13 Spring Pointscore is this Saturday 22nd September, 2012.  Block and casual entries are available online - click here.

Race 2 of the Club Short Series is also this Saturday 22nd September, 2012.

New Sail 10 Pass

The new Sail 10 Pass is a pre-paid payment facility for Owner’s and Skipper’s who race on a casual basis in a Series held at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. The Sail 10 Pass enables Owners and Skippers to pay for a block of 10 casual entries and is flexible enough to use across all MHYC series. The pre-paid ten races must be used before the end of the season (31 August 2013) after which they will expire. To purchase the Sailing 10 Pass, please contact the Sailing Office. Price: $405.00 (pre-paid).

Thursday Twilights - Skippers Briefing & Season Opening Drinks

The 2012 Thursday Twilight Series kicks off on Thursday 4th October with a Skippers Briefing and Season Opening Drinks from 6.00pm.  All welcome.  The first race will be on Thursday 11th October, 2012, with a count up start.

Series 1 for the 2012-13 season, Race 3 today, Wednesday 19th September, 2012. Entries are available online - click here. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up.

New for 2012 - Casual 10 Card for Tender Service

MHYC has introduced a new Casual 10 Card for those requiring Tender Service on a casual basis. The cost is $250 for 10 return trips. One trip consists of a dropoff/pickup completed on the same day. Click here for the Tender Service form.

Racing Rules Clinic - 27th September

Mark Pryke will be presenting our next Sailing Clinic on Racing Rules.  He will be touching on the new rules due out in the next couple of months as well as the current racing rules.  A clinic not to be missed!

Live Jazz at the Club - Friday 28th September

The Last Friday of the Month social drinks will be on Friday 28th September, with live jazz from 7.00pm.  Join us with friends at the Club for an evening of relaxation and jazz!

The Harbourview Bar & Bistro will be open from 6.00pm for dinner.

Melbourne Cup at MHYC

Keep Tuesday 6th November free for the race that stops a nation!  MHYC will be holding a Melbourne Cup luncheon in the Harbourview Bar & Bistro from 12 noon - keep the date in the diary!  More details to follow in the coming weeks.

State Judge Course at MHYC - November 3rd & 4th, 2012

A 2-day course of the Yachting Australia National Officiating Program State/National Judge qualification, will be held at Middle Harbour Yacht Club on behalf of Yachting NSW.

The aim of this course is to educate participants on topics such as Protests, Rules and Race Documents at a State and National level including on water judging. Cost $120 per person.
