Youth Sailing Regattas

MHYC has a proud tradition of developing young sailors, culminating in the success of Nathan Wilmot and Malcolm Page winning Gold in the 470 Mens at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Malcolm backing up in 2012 in London with another Gold.

MHYC is also the home base for the Australian Sailing Team (AST), with all of the the current Olympians training and based out of the club. This has helped the AST have their best ever results at an Olympics with local sailor Malcolm Page becoming the most successful 470 sailor in the world with a second GOLD medal at the London Olympics in 2012.

Capital improvements to the club include a 600 sqm hardstand and crane for lifting coach boats making MHYC even more accessible to Juniors, AST Sailors and Sailors with Disabilities.

To continue this tradition, MHYC is dedicated to holding premier centreboard sailing Championships through a range of programs and classes. These Championships have included the East Coast Championships, NSW Optimist State Championships, 420 Australian Titles and many more. MHYC strives to provide a fun regatta environment to sail as well as strong competitive and professional racing on the water.
