MHYC Junior Sailing Open Day
In the lead up to the summer season, Junior Sailing is hosting an Open Day so future junior sailors and their families can trial the sport as well as view the extensive program we offer. There will be joyrides in Optimists, 420s and Laser Picos as well as a BBQ, raffle and a meet and greet with the Australian Sailing Team. This is a great chance for your children and grandchildren to trial the sport we all love in a fun and safe environment.
The Open Day is on Sunday 25th September, 10am – 3pm and is proudly supported by Sturrocks. For further information, contact Meghan Andrew on (02) 9969 1244 or via email at juniorsailing@mhyc.com.au. Information on the MHYC Junior Centreboard Program can be found at www.juniorsailing.com.au.
MHYC Schools Program
The MHYC Schools Program kicked off last Wednesday 14th September with 47 kids from Redlands commencing their induction to sailing and the club. Redlands will be at the club every Wednesday afternoon during Term 4 and Term 1 completing the Tackers Program, with SHORE commencing their program in the coming weeks. This is great news for the MHYC Centreboard Program as it continues to develop and grow in the lead up to the busy summer season.

Meet & Greet Night for Skippers & Crew - 23rd September at 6.30pm
Finding Crew....easy, no drama????
This does not happen automatically, it requires great effort and follow through.
This is one of the major problems we encounter when we talk to members and skippers.
Not a new problem it is one of the oldest problems we have found.
Last year we started the “Meet & Greet Nights” the aim of this evening was to get skippers and crew into the same room so that the skippers could present a 10 min outline of their program for their yacht for the coming season. What they were looking for in crew and would they take inexperienced crew.
