2011 Sail Past & Open Day - Saturday 3rd September
You are invited to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's Opening Day and Sail Past on Saturday 3rd September. The festivities begin from 10am with the Sandbar serving coffe/tea, egg and bacon rolls etc, and kids activities, such as face painting, jumping castle and sand building competition, commencing at 10.30am, followed by MHYC's Commodore's Welcome and toast to the new sailing season.

A reminder to Skippers to present to the Sailing Office, a YA Special Regulations Check, copy of insurance and crew list before your entry will be accepted.
Sailing Instructions will be posted on the Club website this evening. Handicaps will be available from Friday evening.
Father's Day Lunch at MHYC
Seabreeze will be open on Sunday 4th September from 11.30am for Father's Day. Treat your Dad (or Grandad) for lunch overlooking Middle Harbour at MHYC - all dad's will receive a complimentary beer on arrival!

Audi Hamilton Island Race Week and Audi IRC Australian Championships 2011
Race Week this year seemed to be all or nothing. For the first 3 races we have sunny skies, but 30+ knot winds from the SE! It blew so hard, it seemed to blown all the winds away and for the 2nd half of the week we were left with very little wind and lots of low cloud.

New Season Sailing Handbook
The new Season Sailing Handbooks are now available. Handbooks were distributed to those that attended the annual Skipper’s Briefing last Friday night.
Each boat owner is entitled to two (2) copies of the handbook, all other members are entitled to one (1) copy.
If you were not present at the Annual Skipper’s Briefing, handbooks are now available for collection from the Sailing Office.
The new MHYC Sailing Handbook comes into affect from today, Thursday 1st September 2011.
Get Set Weekend Report
The Annual Get Set weekend was held last weekend, commencing with the Annual Skippers Briefing on the Friday night. A good turn out of boat owners, skippers and crew, heard important information regarding the new Sailing Season and picked up their new Sailing Handbooks.
The Special Regulations Audits on the Saturday and Sunday were conducted by an exceptional volunteer team lead by Chief Special Regulations auditor Bill Allen. A big thank you to the team consisting of, Trevor D’Alton, Mike McEvoy, Phil Darling, Phil Clinton, Tony Levett, Ted Hamilton, Richard Jarvis, Mitch Miller and Grant Dawson.
65 Audits were conducted over the 2 days, with most owners being well prepared and helpful.
