Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club E Newsletter.  

The winner of the Bear Cottage prize raffle of Hanse yacht, "Harry's Story", was drawn last Sunday at the Sydney Boat Show.  Lucky for MHYC, the winner has decided to join our club and bring the yacht here so hopefully "Harry's Story"  may be a part of many races to come!  Many thanks to all Members and friends for your support of Windcraft and their endeavours to raise much needed funds for Bear Cottage.

Skippers Briefing & Annual Get Set Weekend - 26th-28th August 2011

The Skippers Briefing will be held on Friday 26th August, 2011 from 7.00pm.  All boats intending to compete shall attend the Skipper Briefing or a representative of the boat.
 

The Annual Get Set Weekend will follow the Skippers Briefing over the weekend of 27th and 28th August, 2011.  Audit bookings are now available through the Sailing Office or email to andrew@mhyc.com.au.

Members are encouraged, for this year, to make their own pre-arrangements for the following services, as they will be limited during the Get Set Weekend.

Fire Extinguisher Services: Sedgman Fire (available Sunday 28th only) - 0418 218 205.
PFD/Float Services: Sydney Yachting Centre - 9969 2422.
Expired Flares: dispose of at NSW Maritime Coastal Service Centres - 13 12 56
 

Leading Edge Series

The Leading Edge is a 5 week series, Clubhouse Start and Finish, Warning Signal from 1220hrs.   Click here for more information and to enter.

Expiration of Special Regulation Equipment Compliance

Please note ALL Special Regulation Equipment Compliance (Safety Certificates) have now expired as of 30 June 2011. Competitors entered into the current Wednesday Series (4) and Leading Edge Series do not require a new audit until the completion of these series.
 

2011-12 Special Regulation Forms are available from the foyer of the Clubhouse or online, www.mhyc.com.au.

MHYC Junior Coach Boat

Junior Sailing now has an additional coach boat!  The engine of the coach boat was funded through the ASF grant and thanks to Bob from All Inflatables who installed the engine to the boat. Thanks also goes to Martin Hill from Estate Master who generously donated the boat to the Club and Evan Rees for his assistance in securing a great deal with Daihatsu.  

Sail Lockers

The sail lockers are now ready for use and all of them have been allocated.    We do, however, have other spare space within the Club if you are interested.  For further information, please contact Alister at marina.manager@mhyc.com.au.

Nominations to YNSW MAC and Committees 2011-12

Please be advised that nominations for positions to Yachting NSW Committees and the Yachting NSW Member Advisory Council, for the 2011-12 season, will be due very soon.

2011 Audi IRC Australian Championship on ONE HD

The 2011 Audi IRC Australian Championship will go to air on ONE HD from Saturday 3 September at 6:00pm. This year's series will comprise of eight 30 minute episodes.

Thank you Roy

Roy Cooper has given MHYC endless service and volunteering as part of the Race Management Team.   Due to health reasons he has had to step down from his weekly commitment to the race management team and will be greatly missed.

Thank you Roy for your continuous support and amazing volunteering spirit.  We look forward to seeing you at the Club very soon.

Sunday Roast at MHYC
