Sydney City Marine Winter Series

The Sydney City Marine Winter Series welcomes club racers and cruisers and encourages yachts from neighbouring clubs to participate either as a Series entrant or as a casual entrant. 

The 10 race Saturday series offers two drops to all series entrants. Every Saturday through to 16th July, 2011.  Spinnaker, non-spinnaker and IRC divisions with racing commencing at 1200 hours on the Sound. 

Competitors are reminded to collect their bow decals from the sailing office prior to racing.

MHYC Junior Sailors in QLD

Good luck to all the Middle Harbour Yacht Club junior sailors who will be attending QLD Youth Week hosted by Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron next week. MHYC will be represented by 8 junior sailors who have been training hard over the past few weeks. These sailors will attend 4 days of training this weekend including a sprint series on Sunday before they head up to Queensland. QLD Youth Week runs for 5 days (1st July – 5th July) and has received over 200 entries from all over Australia.

Australian Sailors in Kiel Germany

Australian sailors are set to battle it out for medals in four classes as the final round of the ISAF Sailing World Cup heads into the last day of racing in Kiel, Germany.

After four days of racing Australians are in medal contention in four classes with crews in the Women’s Match Racing, 470, RS:X and Laser Radial classes all aiming to stand on the podium in Kiel on Wednesday night.

Jazz at the Club - Friday 24th June

Be Part of a Team of Champions

MHYC has the honour of hosting the 2012 International Access Class World & International Championships at the Club from 6-13 April next year. The Championships are open to all sailors giving disabled athletes the opportunity to compete on equal terms with able bodied sailors. 
 

We invite Club members to be involved with this unique event either by providing funding support through your company, particularly if it has a Foundation established for this purpose, and/or volunteering at the event. It is very rewarding to partner with and support athletes with a disability. Read more...

The 2011 Financial and Media Markets Charity Regatta – Request for Yachts

The Financial Markets Charity Regatta will be held on Friday 28th October 2011 out of Middle Harbour Yacht Club. The purpose of the event is to raise over $100,000 for Australian Based Children’s and Medical Research charities. This will be added to the $1 million they are targeting to raise from their annual charity golf day. Read more....

State/National Race Officers Course

Yachting NSW is hosting a State/National Race Officers Course at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club on the Saturday 25 –Sunday 26 June 2011.

To become a State / National Race Office you will also have to be assessed on water and have events experience.

Cost to attend the 2 day course is $120, which includes all the course material, lunches and handouts.

Recently you would have received a letter from Walter Carpenter, our Chairman, seeking support of the Club's Build A Better Club, Stage II.  These much needed funds are to ensure we are able to continue to maintain and make improvements to our Club.  Please return your donation form if you would like to donate and receive your tax receipt before the end of the financial year  Thank you for your support.

Calling all Northshore 38 Owners

A small group of enthusiasts have decided to re-launch the class association of the most successful Australian monohull blue water yacht ever built: the evergreen Northshore 38.

Our association would like to hear from all the owners of NS38’s, NS380’s and NSX38’s in and around NSW (and beyond). We would like to divine the interests of the current group of owners, find out where they are currently racing and sailing, and canvass the level of interest in establishing a class regatta or
