A fabulous lunch was enjoyed by all who attended last week's Literary Lunch with Tom & Meg Keneally. They both gave some intriguing insights into the writing of their recent books, The Unmourned and The Soldier's Curse. Thank you, Tom & Meg, and to everyone who came along to make it such an enjoyable day! Our next Ladies Luncheon will be held on Thursday 8th June with well known Australian journalist, Tracey Spicer - so save the date!

Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series 3 - Race 7 - 12th April, 2017
Race 7 of Series 3 for the 2016-17 season, will be held today Wednesday 12th April, 2017. Due to daylight saving having finished, please be aware that the handicaps are count up starting from 1300 hours.

Stage Too Bows Out
Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s “Stage Too” announced their retirement from racing last Saturday after 35 years of competing in MHYC’s annual pointscore. Yacht owner, Stuart Behne, himself a member of MHYC for over 54 years, remarked that it was time to retire as the average age on board is 78 years! Stage Too, a Swarbrick 99 design, began racing at MHYC in 1982 and has consistently raced each year since then, winning many of the pointscores in their Division, including 1st on PHS in the Summer Season just finished. Congratulations Stuart and all the crew for an amazing effort – we look forward to officially saying farewell as you collect your trophy at the Prize Giving on 6 May - you will be missed on the Harbour each Saturday!
Please note: there is no MHYC keelboat racing on Saturday 15th, 22nd & 29th April, 2017.
Crew Member of the Year Award - Nominations Close 22nd April 2017
The Crew Member of the Year Award is presented to an esteemed crew member, displaying the characteristics of a desirable MHYC Member, someone other crew members would aspire to emulate, and nominated from a yacht in a division of the Annual Pointscore during the 2016/17 season. The award will be presented at the Annual Prize Giving Presentaiton on 6th May, 2017.
If you know of a MHYC Member that you would like to nominate, please download the form here and hand to the Sailing Office. Nominations close 1800 hours on Saturday 22nd April, 2017.
ANZAC Two-Up Cup - Tuesday 25th April, 2017
MHYC's Feature Event, ANZAC Two-Up Cup, will be held on ANZAC Day, Tuesday 25th April, 2017. Handicapped Clubhouse start from 1pm with games of Two-Up in the Main Bar following racing and the presentation.

MHYC Winter Series - begins Saturday 6th May, 2017
MHYC's Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races. No racing is held over the June Long Weekend. First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Sail Port Stephens Results
Congratulations to all MHYC boats and crew that competed in Sail Port Stephens last week/weekend! There were some great results with Nine Dragons (Bob Cox) 1st in Div 2 of the NSW IRC Championships and Mortgage Choice Rumba (Rob Carr/Stephanie Cook/Kerry Burke) 1st in Performance Cruising Div 2. Youth Sailing - Easter Camps are underway

2017 Annual Prize Presentation - 6th May 2017

Treat mum to breakfast or lunch at Middle Harbour Yacht Club on Mother's Day, Sunday 14th May, 2017. Enjoy the views over Middle Harbour from the Harbourview Bistro for either a Breakfast Buffet or special Mother's Day Lunch menu.

Kids Disco & Karaoke - Friday 21st April 2017
