MHYC E News 22nd February, 2017
Welcome to MIDDLE HARBOUR YACHT CLUB's E-Newsletter
Wow! What a great night we had at Saturday's Barefoot Ball! With the incoming storm of heavy rain and hail, hitting in the late afternoon/early evening, it was a fairly tense time around the Club hoping the storm would pass - & it did! The Gene Fehlberg Trio had the party started before Mental As Anything finished off the night, with over 400 guests dancing and singing the night away on the beach and Sandbar deck. Thank you to all the MHYC staff (admin & bar) for all their hard work in making the Ball such a success and to the members who donated banana leaves - thank you! Visit our Facebook page to see more photos.

Entry extended as new sponsor announced for 2017 Sydney Harbour Regatta
With entries at a record high of 170, Middle Harbour Yacht Club announces a new major sponsor has joined forces with the Sydney Harbour Regatta, NSW’s largest keelboat regatta, and officials could not be more pleased.
Abell Point Marina, one of the largest marinas in Australia with over 500 wet berths accommodating vessels up to 60 metres in the heart of the Whitsundays, Airlie Beach, has joined Helly Hansen, as a major sponsor of MHYC’s annual event to be held on the weekend of 4-5 March.

Request for Marina Berths for SHR
The annual Sydney Harbour Regatta (SHR) is the prestigious event hosted by MHYC that brings together the Sydney based Clubs, their yachts and a number of Class Associations to race in respective events over 3 days. And, for 2017, MHYC has been requested by the Class Associations from the Sydney 36s, Sydney 38s and the F40s to use this event to conduct respective State or National titles in conjunction with the SHR. For such title events it is customary that the competing yachts are all berthed at the same marina for the duration of the series; the Class Associations have therefore requested MHYC to make such an arrangement available to the entrants that includes international competitors. To that end, as the MHYC marina is currently at capacity, the Club could not service this request without your assistance.
