Sydney City Marine Leading Edge Series - Race 1 - Saturday 2nd August, 2014

For those who wish to keep racing on Saturdays until the 2014/5 program begins in September, the SCM Leading Edge series runs for 5 races from 2 August.

The Leading Edge series features a Clubhouse Start, pursuit racing from 1230, with both Spinnaker and Non Spinnaker divisions, casual and series entrants welcome

Wednesday Series 4 supported by Inner Circle Rum

Race 9 of Series 4 for the 2013-14 season today, Wednesday 30th July, 2014. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours. Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Thanks to all those members who attended the recent AGM and congratulations to the new and re-elected Directors and Flag Officers. It was another opportunity for me to meet more members but also to have thanks expressed to the hard-working MHYC staff!

2014/15 Membership Renewals - Hamilton Isand Escape draw closes tomorrow!

One day to go to be entered in the draw for a Hamilton Island escape, when renewing your membership. Closing date for the draw is tomorrow at 5pm Thursday 31st July.  Online renewals are also available through the MHYC website - click here. To be entered in the draw to win an island escape to Hamilton Island, renew before 31st July. (All Members on our direct debit system will automatically be entered).

Wine Tasting at MHYC - Friday 8th August

On Friday 8th August, 2014, from 6pm to 8pm, MHYC will host a wine tasting of hand selected premium wines. Enjoy the character recognised Australian wine regions including the Barossa SA, Great Southern WA and the Pyrenees in Victoria. There will also be some international wines from Mendoza Argentina, Marlborough NZ and Central Otago NZ. Please see if you can make time to join us.

Spit to the Zoo Challenge 2014 - Sat 16th August

Race 11 of the Paddle NSW 2014 Harbour Series will be held from MHYC on Saturday 16th August, 2014, with the race starting at 8.30am.  The challenge will consist of a 16km long course or 8km short course - surf skis, spec skis, SUP's, outirggers and sea kayaks welcome.  Registration from 7am.

Mosman Foreshore Parking - The Spit 

The first 100 parking permits have now been printed and awaiting collection from the Club.  We are currently taking additional names for those that would like to go on the waiting list for the next batch.  We are required to reach another 100 to receive the 50% discount.  Please call reception to be added to the waiting list on 9969 1244.

Product Safety Recall - GME Accusat EPIRBs

Members please note - In December 2013 Standard Communications Pty Ltd (GME) initiated a recall for the GME Accusat EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon), a radio beacon that when activated sends a radio signal via satellite or homing frequency to notify of a distress situation.

Members are reminded to 'Save the Date for the Annual Skippers Briefing in preparation for the forthcoming 2014/15 sailing season on Friday 29th August, 2014.  Mandatory for all boats participating in the new season. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
