MHYC General Manager Announcement
Dear Members,
In March 2014, the Board wrote to members indicating that a recruitment process was underway to appoint a General Manager to MHYC as part of its review of the club's facilities and management team. This process involved a significant investment of time by Board Members through a formal assessment and consideration of a number of applicants.
The Board are delighted that we have been successful in the recruitment of a General Manager for MHYC and are pleased to announce that Karen Baldwin has accepted the position.
Karen will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the operations of MHYC and will report directly to the Board.
Karen previously held the position of General Manager at Royal Motor Yacht Club, Broken Bay and prior to that had fourteen years with The Carlson Hospitality Group culminating in senior roles including General Manager of the Radisson Hotel in Manly. She is a Director on the Board of the Marina Industry Association and has in the past been President of the Manly Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of the Tourism Industry Council of NSW. Karen brings first hand knowledge of the issues currently facing yacht clubs and marinas and has over twenty years of hospitality and customer service focused experience.
Karen will be joining us on the 19th May and we will be arranging some informal opportunities for you to meet Karen once she commences in the role.
