Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter.  MHYC's "The Breeze" annual magazine is now available for collection from the Club reception.  Please collect your copy when you are next at the Club.
Please note: we now have our defibrillator, named the "MHYC Exilerator", which will be situated, and readily accessible, next to the reception of the Club.  If anyone would like to be trained on its use, please speak to any of the MHYC Staff.

Annual Skippers Briefing - Did you miss the first one? 2nd Edition - this Thursday 26th Sept - 6.30pm

The 2nd Skipper's Briefing will be held on Thursday 26th September, 2013, at 6.30pm.

Racing Rules Clinic - Thursday 26th Sept - 7.30pm

Following the Skipper's Briefing, a Racing Rules clinic with guest speaker, Tony Mooney, will be held from 7.30pm. A great opportunity to freshen up on the rules ready for the sailing season. To book, call 9969 1244. $10 Members/$20 Non Members.

MHYC's 2013-14 Sailing Handbook is now available for collection or to download - click here. One copy per Member of the Sailing Handbook is available from the Sailing Office. Extra copies are available to purchase for $10.

MHYC Membership Renewals

Reminder to renew your membership - memberships expired on 31st August.  Renew your membership today. 2012/13 membership cards will be disabled from 30th September. There's never been a better time to be a Member of MHYC.  All aboard for our Diamond Jubilee celebrations for our 75th year!

MHYC Membership - University students

MHYC introduced a special membership rate for University students during the recent amendments to categories and fees. Consistent with the Club’s Membership Strategy, MHYC is pleased to advise that this offer is extended to include TAFE students and Apprentices. To take advantage of this offer simply contact Pip Lodder on 9969 1244 and provide a copy of your University/TAFE student card or, for Apprentices, a letter from your employer confirming your status. We look forward to welcoming you as members of MHYC.

Mosman Council Car Parking Stickers for 2013/14  - Available  Online!

Get your car parking permit for the Spit Foreshore areas for the 2013/2014 period, now through to 30th June 2014. MHYC Members can now receive a 50% discounted fee of $140 per sticker.

Marina Extension Update

The Marina Extension is well underway with all piling expected to be completed within the next week. Unfortunately this will mean that T Head access is severely limited to only one vessel. The marina is also completely full with the reduced berths for construction, with no casual berthing available to Members over the next few weeks until a T Head becomes available.

Wednesday Series 1

Series 1 for the 2013-14 season Race 4 today, Wednesday 25th September, 2013. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours. Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Wild Oats Thursday Twilights Begin 10th October!

Summer is upon us! The Wild Oats Thursday Twilight Series begins with the first race on Thursday 10th October, 2013. There will be 23 pointscore races in the Series with the final race being on 27th March 2014.  A special Club night to help drive new membership at MHYC will be held for the first Twilight race with complimentary pizza after the race.  There will also be new member benefits and prizes on offer! Join us for a fun way to begin the Summer sailing season.
