Mosman Council Car Parking Stickers for 2013/14 Now Available

We are pleased to advise that Mosman Council has adopted the proposed fee for car parking in the Spit Foreshore areas for the 2013/2014 period, beginning 1st July 2013 through to 30th June 2014. MHYC Members can now receive a 50% discounted fee of $140 per sticker.  This will only apply once 100 people have taken up the offer with payment being made online through MHYC. MHYC New Archive’s Group –First meeting Tuesday 11th June

We now have our shiny trophies proudly displaying at the top of the stairs in the nice new trophy cabinet generously donated by Fran Marriott in memory of Roy Cooper.

However not all could fit in and many other trophies are in need of a bit of polish and tender loving care. All our trophies also need to be regularly maintained. In addition we have lots of photos and other old pieces of history that need to be restored and maintained.

Wednesday Series 4

Series 4 for the 2012-13 season, race 1 for the Series today, Wednesday 5th June, 2013.  Entries are open online - click here.   Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours.  Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Sydney City Marine Winter Series

Race 6 of Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s Sydney City Marine Winter Series will be held on Saturday 22nd June, 2013.
Please note that there will be no racing on 8th and 15th June.

Get "Checked" Weekend - 15th & 16th June 2013 - Book Now!

MHYC will run its Get "Checked" Weekend on Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June, 2013. The initiative is to get boats audited under the new Special Regulations (revised every 4 years) in preparation for the major races and regattas in the Winter and Queensland racing season. Fire Extinguisher Servicing

MHYC has organised Graeme Sedgeman of Sedgman Fire to be at the Club to service Member's fire extinguishers. The dates and times are as follows:-
Saturday 29th June 8am - 2pm
Saturday 31st August 8am - 2pm
Saturday 21st September 8am - 2pm

IRC Yacht Measuring & Weighing

IRC owners are requested to submit their revalidated IRC certificates for the new season to the Sailing Office.

Cruising Division June Long Weekend at Sugarloaf

The Crusiing Division's next cruise will be held this long weekend, 8th-10th June 2013 at Sugarloaf Bay.  The Sugarloaf weekend will also allow Members to have their yachts audited, PFD's, first aid kits and fire extinguishers inspected and have your certificate issued for 2013/14 season.  The raft up will commence in Sugarloaf from 10am on Saturday 8th June.  For more details, click here for the latest Compass Rose.

NSW East Coast Championships

The NSW East Coast Championships will be held at MHYC this weekend of 8th & 9th June, 2013. With over 50 entries received, and more to come, it is expected to be a great regatta. To enter - click here.

Winter Junior sailing Holiday Camps

MHYC will be running Tackers & Learn to Sail holiday camps this coming July school holidays. Dates as follows:-

July 1st - 4th, 2013, from 9.30am - 3.30pm
July 8th - 11th, 2013, from 9.30am - 3.30pm

Come & See Us at the Mini-Mos

The Mini-Mos Community Fun Run and Fair will be held on Sunday 16th June, 2013, and MHYC will be a stall holder at the community fair. The fair will be held in the grounds of Mosman Public School and features rides and activities for kids of all ages, live music, a range of stallholders from the local community, a café, BBQ, sushi stall, and an abundance of home-made cakes and goodies.  MHYC's stall will primarily be promoting Junior Sailing, as well as all other aspects of the Club. Seniors Lunch - Sunday 21st July, 2013

Invitiations have been sent to MHYC Members who have been a Member of the Club for 20 years+, inviting them to our annual Senior's Lunch, being held in Cala Luna on sunday 21st July, 2013, from 12 noon.  Our special guest speaker this year will be Gordon (Wingnut) Ingate.  Seats are limited so please send in your booking form or click here to pay online.

New Accessible Bathroom & Baby Change Area

MHYC was built by its volunteers and it is pleasing to see that this spirit continues to flourish. Over the past couple of years we have seen many major improvements to the club.

Upstairs we now have our new accessible toilet and baby changing area as well as improvements to the Ladies bathroom. The money for this was provided by a $21,500 grant from NSW Sport and Recreation as well as a $10,000 contribution from the AST. At the same time, you may have noticed that we were also able tart up the upstairs lady’s bathroom to make it a more pleasant place to pay a visit.
