Have you noticed?
• The Sandbar has been de-cluttered by Gordon Ketelby and Julie Hodder
• Sandbar has been painted with designer colours, thanks to a huge effort by Gordon ‘Picasso’ Ketelby
• Optimist Storage Racks have been erected on the dinghy rigging deck by Peter Lewis, Bob Markie and Jack Stening. Alister is arranging locating beams.
• Storage shelves have been constructed by Bob Markie in the service entry to the office, in the strongroom and in the storage room at the back of the Quarterdeck
• Garden maintenance has started with David Grinston
• The Members room is being reclaimed as a Members room and Julie and Mike McEvoy are de-cluttering and organising it.
• The wall in the passage to the Quarterdeck has been painted, thank you to Richard Hurley, Gordon and Jack

Sydney City Marine Winter Series Race 7 Report

Hughie has finally made up for all his playing this winter with a glorious sunny Saturday with reasonable wind.
With a couple of yachts out in the sound for a practice and to look for the start boat. It was looking like an interesting day with the wind forecast to drop over the afternoon. The Start Boat was out at Store Beach. Finally course 7 shown.

Spit Bridge Closure - 18th June to 1st July

The Spit Bridge will not open to marine traffic from Monday 18 June to Sunday 1 July 2012, inclusive.

The road across The Spit Bridge will be closed to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for up to three hours between 1am and 4am on:

- Monday 18 June, 2012

- Monday 2 July, 2012

Sydney City Marine Winter Series

The Sydney City Marine Winter Series continues each Saturday through to Saturday 14 July 2012. This is a 10 Race Series with 2 discards and warning signal at 1200hrs. For Sailing Instructions see MHYC Sailing Handbook pp 111-117.  See the Sailing Office for further details, Notice of Race and Entry Form.

Junior Sailing - Winter Holiday Camps

Thursday Twilight Sailing Survey

We are running a survey regarding Thursday Twilight Sailing, not only to help improve next year’s series, but also to listen to you (our Members) and help understand what type of sailing/activities you enjoy.

In addition, we are thinking of introducing a new twilight series on Tuesday night and would like to gauge your interest to assist with our planning.

We are also interested in the viewpoint of your crew (whether from MHYC or other clubs), so we would greatly appreciate it if you could forward the on-line survey to your crew.

YA Special Regs Equipment Audits 2012/13

Yacht owners are reminded that current Special Regs Audit forms expire on 30 June 2012. The Get Set Weekend will be held as scheduled on 25/26 August in preparation for the 2012/2013 season, but those wishing to enter the Winter Series for the first time after 1 July, all Leading Edge Entrants, and those planning to enter other events between July and September will need new Cat 7 or above certification in order to compete.

CYCA Boat Weighing Day

Competitors who may be interested in having their yacht weighed for IRC certification ahead of the Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race or 2012-2013 Summer Season are invited to submit their expression of interest to the Sailing Office at the CYCA.
