Please note that the start time is now 1300 hours countdown.
There will be no Wednesday Series race on 25th April, being Anzac Day. Instead, the Two Up Cup will be held.

What’s on offer? Steak and a local tap beer for $20.00, we’ll take the kids off your hands in our kids’ entertainment area which will have board games, free hot dogs and a magician. And of course there will be Two Up after racing and into the evening.

 Member's Boats To the Rescue During Access Worlds
On Easter Saturday, the word went out that we were looking for a number of our Member’s boats – complete with skipper and crew – to allow the Hospitality Girls on the Desk at the recent Access Worlds to invite our competitors’ carers, supporters, families and visitors to go out onto the water to watch the sailing action of the recent Access Worlds “up close and personal"!!

Change of Date for Meeting for Annual Pointscore Owners & Crew
The information published in last week's E News was incorrect and a change of date is as follows.
MHYC Flag Officers and Divisional Representatives invite Annual Pointscore owners and their crew to a post season debrief (inaugural for Inshore owners) and planning session for the next racing season. A draft agenda is being compiled and will be sent to all Annual Pointscore boat owners via email.
Please note the change of dates as follows:-
Offshore, Open & IRC Division owners - Wednesday 2nd May 2012, 6.30pm
Inshore Division owners (A10, No.1, No.2, No.3) - Thursday 3rd May, 2012, 6.30pm

NZ Optimist Nationals
Max Paul won the 11years age group from Elliot Young, another Aussie from Perth and a Kiwi sailor came in third. Max was also third in the 12 years age group and made the Gold Fleet which he was thrilled to achieve. The NZ Optimist fleet is one of the most competitive in the world and the Australian results were fantastic – see details in this link.

The Aussie team had a week of incredible sailing in very challenging conditions offshore. One day the seas were 2+ metres with some of the very best sailors getting swamped or capsizing in the difficult conditions and on the last day the wind was gusting to 30 knots.
John- Mark Paul sailed in the very competitive green fleet and enjoyed a high standard of racing in challenging conditions including winds up to 20 knots and a big swell. - Sarah Kenny
 Annual Presentation & Dinner 2012 - next Friday
MHYC's Annual Presentation and Dinner will be held at MHYC next Friday 27th April, 2012. Tickets are now available to purchase online - click here - or by phone via the office on 9969 1244.
Tickets are $85 per person, which includes an arrival drink, canapes, 2 course meal and entertainment.
As this function usually books out fairly quickly, it is advised that Members get their crew together quickly to book a "Boat" table.

‘The Waitangie” Challenge MHYC v RYCV
The ‘Waitangie’ Inter Club Challenge evolved over a long lunch at MHYC with Commodore Tig Thomas and Jim Shields who was commodore of RYCV at the time. This was in 1995, but took several years to organise. They had both been great mates since their respective weddings quite some years ago.
With each Commodore boasting the best on the water; the Challenge was borne.

 Spit Bridge Lift System Upgrade - bridge and road closure update
The RMS has advised that the planned fourteen day period when the bridge will not open to marine traffic has been postponed and will now occur from Monday 14 May to Sunday 27 May 2012, inclusive. This is because of a delay in delivering components required to upgrade the Spit Bridge lift system.
