Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club E Newsletter. Many thanks to Guido Belgiorno-Nettis and Martin Hill for their insightful and interesting talk last night on their experiences during February's Farr 40 World Championships. It is wonderful to have two MHYC members and their crew involved in such a prestigious event - & of course, coming home as World Champions.

Are You Looking for Crew? Or Wanting to Crew?
For any skippers who are looking for new crew or just need that extra crew member, there are several options available to ensure your competitiveness in the Sydney City Marine Winter Series.
The Sailing Office is always available to help with your crew requests and has an extensive email database of persons who have indicated their interest in crewing opportunities. An online version is also available - click here.
The most effective and popular method is picking up crew from the Breezeway on the Saturday mornings prior to the race. Crew can leave their details on the Crew Board and vice versa with boats requiring crew.

Trophy Polishers Needed

The East Coast Championships is being held on the weekend of 11th-12th June, 2011 and MHYC requires volunteers to help out with the race management. Please call the Sailing Office on 9969 1244 if you can offer some time to assist.

MHYC owners are invited to participate in the SGBay Challenge Singapore
Unleash the racing spirit in you this season! BAY Challenge, the first Sailing Match Race in Singapore will launch off in the beautiful waters of Marina Bay from 13 – 15 May 2011. Renowned for its panoramic city skyline and complete state of art infrastructures, Marina Bay is a bustling centre of attraction and the perfect venue to host the 1st ever city race.
This sailing match race will witness 16 teams, from regional countries such as Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore, competing head on in high performance Laser Bahias. Commentators and live feed on site will drum up the excitement as 10,000 spectators catch the action live, watching the sailors put their physical limits to the test racing to the finishing line.
