YACHT SALES AUSTRALIA WEDNESDAY SERIES
Race 10 - Wednesday 15th May
A fleet of 20 yachts started todays race only to have the course shortened at Lady Bay due to an average of 5 knots on the water.
Division 1 saw Adrian Walters Little Nico in 1st place, followed by Pete Sorensen's Advanced Philosophy in 2nd and Gordon Ketelby's Zen in 3rd.
Division 2 winners Charles Casky's Perception was followed by Garth Riley's Sirius in 2nd and Paul Saunders Let Loose in 3rd.

MOSMAN PARKING PERMITS FOR MHYC MEMBERS
It’s almost that time of the year where members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club are offered discounted Mosman Parking Permits for the year ahead (July 2019 – June 2020).
The Booking System for the permits will open in the first week of June and will only be open for two weeks.
To be sure you receive the notice of when the bookings open, please ensure the membership department have your correct email address.

Please be advised that no waitlists or pre-bookings apply this year, that once bookings open they can ONLY be made online via www.mhyc.com.au, no bookings will be taken over the phone or at reception, and that strictly no late bookings will be taken.
2018/2019 SEASON MHYC ANNUAL PRESENTATION
Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s Annual Presentation was something special as the Club continues to celebrate its 80th year.
Kirsty Sturrock from Helly Hansen, Glen Wirth from LJ Hooker Seaforth and Russell Waddy from Allsail were on hand to assist Commodore Peter Lewis and President John McCuaig to bestow prizes. MC was Vice Commodore Racing Geoff Charters.
Among the long list of trophy recipients for the Inshore Divisions were Annual Pointscore winners Innamincka (John Crawford) for Div 2 and Mortgage Choice Rumba (Rob Carr, Stephanie Cook & Kerry Burke) for Div 1. Powderhulk (Patrick Delaney) won the Adams 10 One Design Annual Pointscore.
In the Ocean and Open Divisions, Nine Dragons (Bob Cox) was 1st IRC & 1st PHS in Division 1, while Stormaway (Jack Stening, Colin Gunn & Ian Thomas) were 1st IRC & 2nd PHS in Division 2.
In MHYC’s popular Thursday Twilight Series, the overall winners were Single Malt (Peter Gilliland) Div 4, Freedom (Stephen Smith) Div 3, Sirius (Garth Riley) Div 2 and Kayimai(Rob Aldis) Div 1.
Cruising members Chris Canty, John Eastway, Paul Wotherspoon & Kelly Nunn-Clark were also awarded.
A number of Special Awards were also announced. The Tig Thomas Memorial Trophy was presented to Gordon Ketelbey. This trophy recognises members who have competed in interclub events and major championships, with points awarded for both participation and placings in State, National and International competitions. Stan Phillips was announced as Crew Member of the Year, Rob Aldis was awarded the Norman G. Booth Trophy and Steve Tucker presented the R.B. Cooper Perpetual Award for outstanding voluntary service.
Congratulations to all the recipients of the trophies and awards and a big thankyou to all the club’s race management volunteers and series sponsors.
CHANGES TO THE MHYC WINTER SAILING PROGRAM
A number of changes have been introduced for the Winter program of sailing at MHYC this year including the addition of a Winter Pursuit Series of 5 races through May, June and July, and trialling of the SailSys entry and results system. These changes can be accessed HERE - if you have any further questions, you can get in touch with the sailing department via sailing@mhyc.com.au
GET CHECKED DAYS AT MHYC

MHYC holds two annual Get Checked Days for Equipment Audits. This allows Club Members the perfect opportunity to have their boats audited prior to the new sailing season commencing free of charge. For PFD checks contact Matt Pyne at the Marina Office or email matt@mhyc.com.au. Bookings for an equipment audit are to be arranged directly through the MHYC Sailing Office or email sailing@mhyc.com.au.
Skippers are to present to the check in desk set up in the café 15 minutes prior to their inspection.
All equipment is to be laid out on the deck and documentation including life jacket checks, registration and insurance are to be available for the auditor.

HARBOURVIEW BAR & BISTRO CLOSED THURSDAY 16 MAY
As we settle into the winter season the Harbourview's hours will start to lessen starting with tomorrow, Thursday 16th May, 2019.
The Sandbar Cafe will still be open for business with all of the usual goodies from 8am.
Kayaks for Hire
A great way to get out on the water and stay fit or spend some time with the kids.
Midweek or weekend, these are available for $15/hour for a single - $20/hour for a double.

The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls, fresh muffins, slices or try one of Brett's homemade icecreams. Don't forget we have takeaway beverages for sale - cases of beer, bottles of wine, and bags of ice.
