Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club E Newsletter.  Congratulations to Guido Belgiorno-Nettis and his crew on Transfusion - 2011 Farr 40 World Champions (see article below).

Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta is on this weekend.  Ian Moss (former Cold Chisel band member) will be performing LIVE on Saturday 5th March from 5.30pm.  Free entry so bring your family and friends.

Please note that March Birthday Vouchers can be redeemed anytime during March due to the Club holding a private function for the Redlands Ball in Seabreeze on Friday 11th March.  The Quarterdeck will be available for Members for bar and food service.

Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta 2011

Over 300 boats have entered the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta this year.   Come down to the Club to enjoy all the festivities, live entertainment and great food over the weekend of 5th and 6th March.

Notice to Members Re: Berths & Car Parking

Please note that there will be no available berths across this weekend due to the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta.

Car parking at The Spit will also be at a maximum so please ensure you leave plenty of time for parking or find alternate transport to the Regatta.

Invitational Charity Race in support of The Smith Family- Friday 4th March 2011

Support the Smith Family, enter MHYC's Charity race being held on Friday 4th March 2011.   Entry is free.  Come and join in the fun - brunch with celebrities at 10am, remote control model yacht racing, race around Sydney Harbour, post race entertainment with "Shooting The Breeze", beverages and light catering.  A day not to be missed in the lead up to the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta.

Another fine day dawned on Sydney with Hughie deciding to give us a break from the 20 knots plus race and bring back the North Easters. Thank you!

Allegations of Gross Misconduct

"When a protest committee, from its own observations or a report received from any source, believes that a competitor may have committed a gross breach of a rule, good manners or sportsmanship, or may have brought the sport into disrepute, it may call a hearing." Rule 69.1 (a)

Members are reminded of the above racing rule of sailing and to refrain from  the use of any inappropriate language at all times.

2011 PIF Regatta

The Annual Property Industry Regatta is on 25 March 2011, an Invitation is extended to MHYC boat owners to compete. The event raises funds to help homeless children, PIF would very much like yacht owners to donate their yachts for this charity day. If you would like PIF to source a company for you they are more than happy to do this.
