Commodore's Black Tie Dinner

Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series
Six boats braved the conditions on a wet and soggy Wednesday afternoon for the first race of Series 4 for The Yacht Sales Australia Non -Spinnaker Pointscore.
Steve Proud was streets ahead of the small fleet on Swish, taking first place in division one followed by Rob Reynolds on Exile.
It was a close finish for the first 3 competitors in division 2 with Another Dilemma sneaking pass both Stormaway and Renaissance in the last couple hundred metres of the race to come in first.
With only 40 seconds between Jack Stening on Stormaway in second place and Gary Carless on Renaissance third.

Mosman Council Parking Permit's for MHYC Members
Mosman Council, once again, will be offering a 50% discount to MHYC Members when purchasing an annual 7 day Spit Foreshore Parking Permit (valid for the East and West car parks) for 2018/19.
The 50% discount price of $185 will only be applicable once 100+ Members have taken up the offer and received by Council as one transaction. Permits can now be purchased HERE. Bookings will close on Monday 25th June, 2018, to allow time to be processed and permits issued.
Late applications will not receive the 50% discount. Please note: parents of Youth members, who are not current MHYC members, are ineligible to purchase a permit.

Get Checked Days - Saturday June 16 & Sunday 26 August 2018
MHYC holds annual Get Checked Days for Equipment Audits, which allows Club Members the perfect opportunity to have their boats audited prior to the new sailing season commencing, free of charge. For PFD checks contact Matt Pyne at the Marina Office or email matt@mhyc.com.au. Bookings for an equipment audit are to be arranged directly through the MHYC Sailing Office by emailing sailing@mhyc.com.au or calling 896931903.
Please note there has been an amendment to the MHYC Special Regulations Equipment Requirements to include a handheld or installed VHF radio: Audit Form 2018/19

Life After Sailing
The Probus Club of Middle Harbour welcomes you to join with us for an active life once the wind has dropped and the sails have flopped.
There is more to life – it does continue, but why wait? Enquire now.
The Probus Club wa formed by a handful of old salts from Middle Harbour Yacht Club, so you will be in good company.
Probus members are a mix of retired business women and men who enjoy each other’s company and meet in the MHYC Club House at 10.00 am every 4th Thursday of each month to organise their lunches, walks, tours and theatre outings. Events that will keep you interested, young and active.

WHF Radio Operators Course
VHF RADIO OPERATORS COURSE AT MHYC WITH MARINE RESCUE
Marine Rescue will be running a Short Range Officer Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP) VHF Radio course
at MHYC over 2 nights in August.

We commence promptly at 1830 and is essential that you do two things prior to the course;
- Bring a passport photo for inclusion in your licence when issued.
- Use the following link to the Australian Maritime College website and learn the phonetic alphabet from page 42 of the Marine VHF Radio Operator’s Handbook - www.amc.edu.au/handbooks
The applicable handbook online is the Marine VHF Radio Operators Handbook and will also give you a primer for the content of the course. You will be issued with this handbook as part of the course and the cost is covered by the course fee.

The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls,

Don't forget we have takeaway beverages for sale - cases of beer, bottles of wine, and bags of ice.
