Whilst we are probably still enjoying the memories of Xmas, sailing and activities at the Club are back in full swing! Last week we held the first regatta for the year with the Farr 40's, and this week we have the Adams 10 Championships! Following this weekend, we will be hosting the Farr 40 State Championships, the SAP RedKite Regatta and the MC38 National Championships - so very, very busy in the Sailing Office.
The Club's Annual Barefoot Ball is now less than 1 month away and you seriously don't want to miss out on this one with iconic classic Australian rock band "DRAGON" being the main feature of the night. Remember songs like "April Sun in Cuba, Are You Old Enough" and many more favourites! Book on line on the Club's website
Helly Hansen Store at MHYC
Founded in 1877 Helly Hansen are celebrating their 141th Birthday this year and are very excited to be announcing the opening of their newest store, located at the iconic Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Opening in early February the store will focus on Helly Hansen’s technical sailing collection along with marine inspired products.
Gosford Challenge on Australia Day Weekend
The Gosford Challenge is on again! We race or cruise up to Pittwater on Friday 26th January, 2018. We are then led into beautiful Brisbane waters. Boats with mast heights less than 17m will be accommodated at Gosford Sailing Club. For boats higher that 17m, moorings and berths are available on the South side of Rip Bridge. Inter-club twilight racing in Magic 25s will be held from 6pm. A return race and cruise will occur Saturday morning 27th January, 2018, accompanying the Gosford boats back to MHYC where inter-club twilight racing in Melges 20s will be held from 6pm. A BBQ will be held in the Sand Bar. This is a great social sailing event. For more information - click here
Australia Day - Friday 26 January
With the above regatta and yacht challenge happening, the Club will be a very exciting place to be this morning - lots of Bacon & Egg Rolls cooked fresh on the BBQ, or ham & cheese croissants, coffee or smoothies will be available for purchase. One complimentary champagne & orange juice or fruit juice for kids available for MHYC members between 8.00-10.00am! Just show your card to the Cafe staff ...
Come and relax on the private beach at your club - this is a family fun day with the Inflatable Wipeout jumping castle located in the marina (in front of the beach) in the morning from 10.00am to 12 noon for member's children/grand-children to play on followed by some fun Aussie tunes with Sydney Groove Trio from 3pm to 6pm in the afternoon. The Sandbar Cafe will be open all day and Harbourview Bar & Bistro will be open for lunch only.
In the afternoon, we will be offering a Sausage Sizzle starting at 3.30pm - $5 each (sausage on a roll with onions, cheese & sauce)
Youth Sailing Camps & Term 1 Programs
Spaces still available on our final Holiday Camps that are running from 22-25 January - book online now so you don't miss out! These are a great fun way for kids to learn the fun of sailing! Term 1 programs get underway in February and Saturday Adventure Squad is back! Adventure Squad aims to develop young sailors’ confidence, seamanship and boat handling skills through adventure sailing in the club’s fleet of OziOptis and 420s. Sundays see the full range of programs starting with Little Tackers through to Race Squad. Click on Junior Sailing or Youth Sailing for more information.
Farr 40's NSW Championships
Saturday & Sunday the 3rd & 4th of February we will once again be hosting the Farr 40's. This time it is the New South Wales Championships, so a strong fleet is expected for their program of offshore and inshore races. Volunteers to assist our on-water Race Management team for this event would also be appreciated. Please contact the Catherine in the Sailing Office - sailing@mhyc.com.au.
Middle Harbour Yacht Club / Gosford Sailing Club Challenge
Gosford Sailing Club in conjunction with Middle Harbour Yacht Club as Organising Authority invite entries from owners of suitable yachts to race from Sydney to Broken Bay and on the Brisbane Water. The MHYC GSC Challenge Regatta will consist of 9 races over 3 days racing from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th January 2018. Click here for Regatta Information.
Adams 10 Australian Championship
The Adams 10 Nationals are being held here at MHYC on the Australia Day Weekend - starting on Friday 26th January and finishing on Sunday 28th January - we wish all the MHYC Adams 10 fleet lots of luck for this event. For more information - click here

Kayaks for MHYC members - A great way to get out on the water and stay fit over summer or spend some time with your kids now that school holidays are here.
