If you have a current Mosman Council Spit Foreshore Parking Permits that expired on 30th June, 2017, Mosman Council has advised that they will remain valid up to and including Monday 17 July 2017, allowing time for you to receive/purchase and affix the new 2017/2018 Foreshore Parking permit to your vehicle. Once we have received the new permits, you will be notified by email regarding collection.
The Spit to the Zoo paddle event will be held from MHYC this Saturday 8th July, 2017, so please be aware that the Club and parking areas will be very busy in the morning. The race begins at 9am with registration from 7.30am - to enter, click here.
School Holiday Sailing Camps will be held from next Monday 10th July through to Thursday 13th July, 9am to 3pm each day, so if you are still looking for an activity for the kids over the holidays - sailing is the perfect option on these beautful Winter days!

Membership Renewals for 2017/18
Membership Renewals for the 2017/18 season have been emailed to Members today - look out for it in your inbox! Renew before the end of the month, 31st July, 2017, and go into the draw to win a trip to Hamilton Island for 2 adults for 3 nights (airfares not included). If you have not received yours, it may be that we either have an incorrect email address for you or not one at all! Please let us know so we can update our records. There are a variety of options to renew your membership so be sure to read the attached letter with your renewal notice. Your current membership expires on 31st August 2017. We look forward to you all renewing your membership with us and enjoying all the benefits MHYC has to offer!

MHYC Winter Series - Race 10 - Saturday 8th July, 2017
MHYC's Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races.
Race 10 will be held this Saturday 8th July, 2017. Grab an egg and bacon roll from the Sandbar cafe prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Perfect Day for Winter Racing - Update from 1st July, 2017
The second and final day of sprint races in the MHYC Winter Series were held today in moderate breezes under sunny skies.
The first race started in a steady westerly, with the windward-leeward course set between North Head and Grotto Point. Nine Dragons bolted into the lead soon after the 1205 start, but was forced to retire with gear failure after the first lap. The wind went southerly for the final downwind, catching some crews off-guard.

Bring out the wetsuits - Tackers & Youth Sailing Winter School Holiday Program Open
Even though it's getting colder, Winter is a great time to learn to sail. Rug up in a wetsuit and come down to the Club for fun over the school holidays. Shout the kids a hot chocolate when they come off the water!!!
Bookings are open for the July School Holiday Sailing Camps for Tackers and Youth Sailing, beginning next week.

MHYC Yacht Register - Get your boat on the MHYC Register
We plan to publish the register of MHYC members’ yachts once again with the forthcoming Sailing Handbook, so to enable us to ensure that it is as up to date and accurate as possible please let us know if you have recently acquired a new boat, disposed of one, or think that you may not be on the register and should be, or indeed if you have long disposed of a boat which still appears on the register. Please email sailing.manager@mhyc.com.au with boat name, sail number, owners names.

Spit to the Zoo Paddle Event - Saturday 8th July, 2017
It's on again - the Spit to the Zoo paddle event will be held from MHYC on Saturday 8th July, 2017, with the race start at 9am. Spit to the Zoo is the 6th race of the 2017 PNSW Harbour Series for Surf Skis, Spec Skis, SUPs, Outrigger Canoes & Sea Kayaks with long course 16kms or short course 8kms. Volunteers Required
A regular event on the Paddle NSW calendar, the paddle gets underway at 9am with a spectacular massed start at the MHYC Marina. In addition to the Spit to Zoo course, a shorter track around Hunters Bay and Balmoral Beach is provided for the less adventurous paddlers. Over 100 paddlers are expected, so the club will be a busy place in the morning ahead of the Winter Series race getting underway at 12 noon.
MHYC is seeking volunteers to assist with the paddle event – as safety boat crews and onshore. If you can assist, please contact David Staley – sailing.manager@mhyc.com.au or phone 8969 3102.
NRL Game 3 State of Origin NSW Vs Qld - Wednesday 12th July, 2017
Grab a group of friends and come down to the Club to cheer on the Blues in the final match of the State of Origin on the big screen on Wednesday 12th July, 2017, from 7.30pm. State of Origin special of pizza and beer for $15, will be available from the Bistro.
Seniors Lunch - Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon
Invitations to the annual Senior’s Lunch to be held on Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon, have now been emailed to eligible members to attend. One Sails Trim Seminar - Wednesday 2nd August, 2017, 6.30pm
Join Paul Eldrid from One Sails when he presents a Winter sail trim seminar at MHYC on Wednesday 2nd August, 2017, at 6.30pm. The talk will focus on sail trim but include the Trim cycle and Modes so it would be relevant to racing and cruising members. All welcome.
