The Commodore's Black Tie Dinner was held last Friday night with a huge amount of just over $15,000 being raised to support our Youth Sailing program and the Frank Likely Trust. Thank you to all who attended and donated generously - we hope you had a great night! Many thanks also to the wonderful committee who sourced the silent and live auction items and decorated the Harbourview Room - it looked amazing! Some images have been posted to our Facebook page.
The annual Get Checked Weekend was also held last weekend with 31 boats audited. Many thanks to our volunteer auditors for giving up their weekend to do these safety audits - your time and expertise is very much appreciated. If any Members were unable to attend the Get Checked Weekend and still need their boat audited, please contact David Staley in the Sailing Office - a fee will be chargeable for any audits undertaken from here on in.
Many thanks to MHYC Members, Steve Proud and Adrian Walters, for their generous donation of chart plotters for Hugh George and Sandpiper.

Game 2 of the NRL State of Origin NSW Vs QLD will be live on the big screen in the Harbourview Bistro tonight from 7.30pm - $15 pizza and beer special will be available from 6pm. Grab a group of friends and come down to the Club for all the action. Go the Blues!

MHYC Winter Series - Race 7 - Saturday 24th June, 2017
MHYC's Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races.
Race 7 will be held this Saturday 24th June, 2017. First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Grab an egg and bacon roll from the Sandbar cafe prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Centreboard Division Presentation & Dinghy Forum
Presentation of the Centreboard Division Trophies for Season 2016-17 were held along with a Dinghy Forum on Thursday the 15th of June in the Harbour View room.
Following a welcome by MHYC Rear Commodore John Sturrock, the most recent recipient of support from the Frank Likely Trust, Leo McAllister, described the opportunities that have opened up for him in sailing since his learning to sail at MHYC. Leo and Head Coach Nick Connor presented the trophies to this year’s winners.

Bring out the wetsuits - Tackers & Youth Sailing Winter School Holiday Program Open
Even though it's getting colder, Winter is a great time to learn to sail. Rug up in a wetsuit and come down to the Club for fun over the school holidays. Hot chocolates available when you come back into the Club!!!

Dinghy Storage Update
In order to help boost dinghy sailing activity at MHYC, hard stand and rack storage arrangements have recently been reviewed. A new license agreement has been developed and the storage rates updated. Preferred storage locations will be allocated in favour of those boats which are most active.

Sailing Handbook 2017/18 - Advertising Opportunity
There is a limited opportunity to advertise your product or service in the MHYC Sailing Handbook for the 2017/18 season. This will be published in August and available free to all Sailing Members, which is kept on their desks or boats. Your advertisement will ensure that your product or service remains front-of-mind for this important target market throughout the year.

MHYC Yacht Register - Get your boat on the MHYC Register
We plan to publish the register of MHYC members’ yachts once again with the forthcoming Sailing Handbook, so to enable us to ensure that it is as up to date and accurate as possible please let us know if you have recently acquired a new boat, disposed of one, or think that you may not be on the register and should be, or indeed if you have long disposed of a boat which still appears on the register. Please email sailing.manager@mhyc.com.au with boat name, sail number, owners names.

NRL State of Origin - Pizza & beer special for $15 - Game 2 - tonight Wednesday 21st June 2017
After NSW taking out game 1, come down to the Club to watch NSW and QLD battle it out in game 2 of the NRL State of Origin games live in the big screen in the Harbourview Room and enjoy a State of Origin special of Pizza and a beer for $15. The bistro will be open from 6pm, with the game kick off at 8pm.
Wallabies Vs Italy - Saturday 24th June, 2017, at 3pm
Come down to the Club and cheer on the Wallabies Vs Italy LIVE on FOX Sports on the big screen from 3pm. Snacks available from the Bistro.
Spit to the Zoo Paddle Event - Saturday 8th July, 2017
It's on again - the Spit to the Zoo paddle event will be held from MHYC on Saturday 8th July, 2017, with the race start at 9am. Spit to the Zoo is the 6th race of the 2017 PNSW Harbour Series for Surf Skis, Spec Skis, SUPs, Outrigger Canoes & Sea Kayaks with long course 16kms or short course 8kms. Seniors Lunch - Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon
Invitations to the annual Senior’s Lunch to be held on Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon, have now been emailed to eligible members to attend.
