Our Literary Lunch with guest speaker Tracey Spicer was well attended last Thursday with everyone enjoying a delicious lunch and hearing the hilarious stories from Tracey, which made up the content of her lastest memoir, The Good Girl Stripped Bare. Our next Literary Lunch guest speaker will be author, Michael Robotham, on Thursday 10th August, 2017 - bookings now open - click here!
Bookings are well underway for the Mosman Council Spit Foreshore Parking Permits for 2017/18 - don't miss your chance as this will only be open to members for a short period. The 50% discounted permit will only be available once 100+ members take up the offer. The discounted fee for 2017/18 for MHYC Members only is $185. MHYC Dinghy Forum & Annual Presentation - tomorrow night Thursday 15 June 2017 at 7pm
Presentation of Centreboard Division trophies for the 2016-2017 Sailing Season and a Dinghy Sailing Forum will be held on Thursday June 15 at 7pm in the Quarterdeck. As well as celebrating the achievements of MHYC’s young sailors over the past year, we would like this to be a social get-together for existing dinghy sailors, families with kids progressing to the racing levels and the classes interested in growing activity at MHYC.

Last Wednesday saw one brave yacht venture out in Race 2 in the pouring rain! Not to be deterred, Mortgage Choice Rumba donned their wet weather gear for a shortened course to Manly only to be hit with a squall and having to return home not finishing the race. Sadly, being the only yacht in the race and not finishing, did not qualify as a race so no points were awarded! Great effort guys!!
MHYC Winter Series - Race 7 - Saturday 24th June, 2017
MHYC's Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races. No racing is held over the June Long Weekend.
Race 7 will be held on Saturday 24th June, 2017. First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

MHYC Keelboat Racing Forum Update
We had a great turnout for last Thursday's Keelboat Forum with many helpful suggestions and ideas and positive outcomes for the upcoming sailing calendar. Thank you to everyone for their input and enthusiasm. Looking forward to a great 2017/18 sailing season!
Get Checked Weekend - 17th & 18th June 2017 - Have you booked your boat in?
The 2017 Get Checked Weekend is on this weekend, June 17 & 18, 2017. All yachts racing in MHYC events in the coming season are required to have successfully completed a safety audit for the category of races they are entering. The new Australian Sailing Special Regulations come in to force as of July 1, 2017.
A team of accredited auditors has been assembled for the weekend and bookings are now being taken. Please note that safety audits conducted outside of the pre-arranged times on the Get Checked weekend may attract service fees. Fire extinguisher servicing will also be available on the weekend.

Bring out the wetsuits - Tackers & Youth Sailing Winter School Holiday Program Open
Even though it's getting colder, Winter is a great time to learn to sail. Rug up in a wetsuit and come down to the Club for fun over the school holidays. Hot chocolates availalbe when you come back into the Club!!!

MHYC Yacht Register - Last chance to get your boat on the MHYC Register
We plan to publish the register of MHYC members’ yachts once again with the forthcoming annual report, so to enable us to ensure that it is as up to date and accurate as possible please let us know if you have recently acquired a new boat, disposed of one, or think that you may not be on the register and should be, or indeed if you have long disposed of a boat which still appears on the register. Please email sailing.manager@mhyc.com.au with boat name, sail number, owners names.

NRL State of Origin - Pizza & beer special for $15 - Game 2 - Wednesday 21st June 2017
After NSW taking out game 1, come down to the Club to watch NSW and QLD battle it out in game 2 of the NRL State of Origin games live in the big screen in the Harbourview Room and enjoy a State of Origin special of Pizza and a beer for $15. The bistro will be open from 6pm, with the game kick off at 8pm.

Seniors Lunch - Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon
Invitations to the annual Senior’s Lunch to be held on Sunday 16th July, 2017, at 12 noon, have now been emailed to eligible members to attend.
