Last Friday, we held our annual Club Christmas Party which was a great night and wonderful to see so many of our members celebrating the festive season amongst friends. It was also a great opportunity to acknowledge the hard work of our volunteers on the renovation of our beloved Hugh George, who were thanked on the night. Also, a vote of thanks was given to the kitchen Bistro team of Steve, Sarah, Cheng and David for an outstanding Christmas fare!
Racing at MHYC is in it's final week for 2016! Today sees the last race for the Wednesday Series for 2016 followed by the famous Seafood Extravaganza! Our final Thursday twilight race for 2016 is tomorrow night, 15th December, 2016, with our Twilight Member Night after the race - come dressed in your favourite Christmas theme! Great raffle prizes, Christmas fare and live music! This Saturday is the popular Christmas Cup and Veterans Cup Feature event. Our Kid's Christmas Disco is also this week on Friday 16th December, 2016, from 6pm - 8pm with a special visit from Santa! It's a busy time leading up to Christmas!

Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series 2 - Race 3 - 14th December, 2016
Race 3 of Series 2 for the 2016-17 season, will be held today Wednesday14th December, 2016. Please be aware that the handicaps are count up starting from 1330 hours.

Thursday Twilight Series - Race 11, 15th December, 2016
The Thursday Twilight series continues with Race 11 tomorrow night, 15th December, 2016, with a count up handicap start from 6pm. Post racing presentation and Twilight member night will be held in the Harbourview Bar & Bistro with live music, raffle prizes and Christmas fare - get the crew together, support the Club and celebrate after the race!

Christmas Cup & Veterans Cup - Saturday 17th December, 2016 - Entries Open
Feature Event Race 4 is the Christmas Cup & Veterans Cup race being held on Saturday 17th December, 2016 - the last race at MHYC for 2016!
The Christmas Cup is open to all, with Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker divisions. Yachts that are over 30 years old are eligible to compete in the "The Veterans Cup" and Yachts & Skippers with a combined age of over 90 years are eligible to compete in the "Old Fart's Dogs Bowl Trophy" .

Squirrel Cup - Wednesday 21st December 2016
New to the MHYC calendar and an added fun race for the 2016 season - the Squirrel Cup, courtesy of Squirrel (aka Phil Chisholm). Non Spinnaker, count up clubhouse start from 2.30pm on Wednesday 21st December, 2016. Post racing 1980's BBQ on the Sandbar deck. Race entry $21. Melges 20 Success
The first 4 months of the Melges 20 experiment, whereby the boats are being lent out to club members to race on Saturdays, has been a definite success. The boats are now being raced on a regular basis and quite a large pool of interested crew has been established. So if you’re thinking about having a go, get in touch with Nicky Bethwaite and lock in a date in the New Year. Saturday racing will resume on 28 January with the Chaos & Bedlam Point Cups.
Youth Sailing - December/January Holiday Camps now Open Online
Looking for fun and exciting activities for the kids these summer school holidays ?
Our summer school holiday sailing camps provide the perfect learning environment for kids 6-18 years old wanting to learn lifelong skills whilst having fun on the water and making friends.
These December/January holidays we have 3 and 4 day sailing camps for kids and teenagers. All the camps are incredibly popular, so we always recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week
The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls - the Sandbar will be open most days over the Christmas and New Year period so drop by for one of Brett's fresh rolls!

The Harbourview Bar & Bistro's menu is available online - click here for the current menu. Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and Friday and Saturday for dinner. For all bookings, please call the MHYC office on 9969 1244.

Kid's Christmas Disco - Friday 16th December 2016
It's Christmas time! Bring the kid's along to MHYC's annual Kid's Christmas Disco on Friday 16th December, 2016, from 6pm - 8pm, being held on the Sandbar Deck. There could even be a surprise visit from you-know-who! Bookings essential as this disco is very popular. Call the office on 9969 1244.
Cost $15 per child (includes snack, drink & small Christmas gift)
Tickets on Sale for 2017 Barefoot Ball with Mental As Anything!
MHYC's annual Barefoot Ball 2017 will be held on Saturday 18th February, 2017, from 7pm with live music from iconic Australian band, Mental As Anything. Ticket options are downstairs at $45 Members/$55 Non members on the beach or upstairs in the Bistro & balcony area for $70 Members/$80 non members. Food & beverage options will be available for purchase. An arrival drink is included in the ticket price. Dress is "Beach Chic" - smart/elegant beach wear.
