The ASX Financial & Media Markets Charity Regatta is on this Friday 18th November, 2016, at the Club with over 50 boats racing, so please be reminded that the Club will be extremely busy on Friday with the carpark at capacity. Due to the regatta, the Harbourview Bistro will be closed for lunch and dinner this Friday.

MHYC's Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship will be held the following weekend, 26th and 27th November, 2016. Entries close this Thursday 17th November, 2016 Enter today before it's too late!

Please note: we are still needing berthing space for the weekend of SSORC and ask if you could please advise if you are either planning to be away from the Club on the weekend of 26 & 27 November or would be willing to move your boat to another location to enable as many boats as possible to be able to stay at the Club. If you are able to assist, please let either Karen or Matt Pyne as soon as possible.

Melges 20 - Available this Saturday 19th November, 2016
Interest is gathering from various club members in taking these sportboats out for a race from time to time. Nicky Bethwaite will give you an orientation so that you have complete confidence in the rigging, launching and retrieval process, and will also (for the price of a glass of wine!) make up the numbers if you're short of crew. Just give her a call (0414 901 309) or send an email to nickyb@mhyc.com.au with a brief resume of your sailing background and that's all it takes to get out on the harbour and enjoy the summer weather.
Thursday Twilight Series - Race 7, 17th November, 2016
The Thursday Twilight series has begun and Race 7 tomorrow night, 17th November, 2016, with a count up handicap start from 6pm. Post racing presentation and the Bistro open for a meal or alternatively, enjoy barbeque food from The BBQ Cooking School, downstairs on the beach - get the crew together, support the Club and celebrate after the race! To book a table at the Bistro, call 9969 1244 and book in your Boat name!

What are those little boats with coloured sails all about?
On two Sunday mornings each month you may have noticed six very colourful two person dinghies sailing from the club’s rigging deck wharf. They are a group of people with disabilities doing what you do, enjoying the delights of sailing. And just as you relish the freedom sailing gives you, imagine how a person confined to a wheel chair feels, when they can take the tiller and steer where ever they want to go. That is if the accompanying volunteer can keep up with the required sail changes!
