The Senior's Lunch was a great success last Sunday with over 90 members in attendance, enjoying an afternoon of catching up with old friends. Many thanks to our guest speaker, Michael York, who gave a wonderful talk about his involvement in the restoration of the James Craig.
MHYC's Annual General Meeting will be held this Thursday 21st July, 2016, at 7pm. The votes have been counted by our scrutineers for the positions vacant on the Board of Directors, with the result being announced at the AGM. Many thanks to our scrutineers - Tig Thomas, Keith Tierney, David Ferris and David Lee!
The waitlist for the Mosman Council Parking permits, for those who missed out on the first batch, will close this afternoon, Wednesday 20th July, 2016, at 5pm. We currently stand at 19 on the waitlist and need at least 30 to be able to receive the 25% discount at a cost of $260 (normally $316). Please contact reception if you wish to be placed on this waitlist.
The pens have arrived! For those who did not receive a special MHYC pen with their 2016/17 membership renewal notice, please collect from reception when you are next at the Club. Please be reminded to renew your membership before 31st July, 2016, to go in the draw for a fabulous trip for 2 to Hamilton Island, to be drawn at Opening Day on 3rd September, 2016!
Our first Clubhouse Sports Lunch will be held this Friday 22nd July, 2016, with guest speaker, ex-Wallaby and Waratahs player, Phil Waugh. As a bonus, we also have the most capped Wallaby, George Gregan, attending with MC, Fox Sports commentator Sean Maloney. It should be a great afternoon of fun and rugby memories!

Race 8 of Series 4 for the 2015-16 season, will be held today Wednesday 20th July, 2016. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up starting from 1300 hours.

MHYC Winter Series - Race 12 Full & Race 7 Short (Final) Saturday 23rd July, 2016
The MHYC Winter Series has begun with Race 12 of the Full series and Race 7 (Final) of the Short series being held this Saturday 23rd July, 2016.
First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Annual Skippers Briefing - Date Change to Thursday 11th August, 2016
Note to Skippers - due to a clash with Hamilton Island Race Week, the Annual Skippers Briefing has been changed from 25th August to Thursday 11th August, 2016 at 7pm. Please make a note of this in your calendar! There will be a range of Helly Hansen's new season sailing gear and clothing to view as well as a wine tasting with Robert Oatley Vineyards.
Youth Sailing - Online Bookings Open - Term 3 begins this Sunday!
Term 3 bookings are open online for Tackers and Learn to Sail - click here for more information. Term 3 begins this Sunday 24th July, 2016, through to Sudnay 18th September, 2016. Green/silver and Open Opti fleet, Cadets and 420 Squad are now being held every weekend, so book in early to avoid disappointment!
Melges 20 Come & Try Sailing Day
We are holding another Come & Try Sailing day on the Melges 20 on Sunday 31 July, starting around 10am. This is open to all club members and if you are interested, please email Nicky Bethwaite on nickyb@mhyc.com.au to secure a spot.
Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week - Hot soup now available
The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our Winter treats - samosas, frittatas, pies, hot dogs! Also delicious soft centred muffins - try them warmed up! Hot soup is available daily perfect for these chilly days - pumpkin & coconut, creamy tomato & basil, Nepalese lentil, cauliflower & parmesan!
Harbourview Bar & Bistro - Winter Menu Available
The Harbourview Bar & Bistro has a new Winter menu - come down to the Club and try it out!
Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and Friday and Saturday for dinner. Thursday night will be open only with a minimum booking of 10 or more. Call the Club on 9969 1244.

Spit to the Zoo 2016 - Saturday 13th August, 2016 - Register today!
It's on again - the 2016 Sydney City Renault Harbour Series - Spit to the Zoo 2016. Long course 16kms, short course 8kms. Open to ocean racing skis, SLSC Spec skis, outrigger canoes, SUP's, Sea kayaks and plastics. Race starts at 9am with registration from 7.30am. $35 for PNSW members and $45 for non members.

Sunday Sounds - Sunday 31st July, 2016, 2pm to 5pm
Come down to the Club on Sunday 31st July, 2016, for MHYC's monthly Sunday Sounds with Rebecca Henry from 2pm to 5pm. Enjoy some live music on a sunny Sunday afternoon at MHYC.
Marine Industry Foundation Fundraising Lunch
The Marine Industry Foundation held their fundraising lunch last Friday at RSYS raising close to $20,000. John Taylor from Sailability Middle Harbour was also presented with a $2,000 cheque from BIAA. MHYC's own Mike Logan, hosted the proceedings with guest speakers, Jessica Watson OAM and Rob Mundle OAM.

Support our Australian sailors in Rio! With only 2 weeks to go before the Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics, most of our Olympic sailors are already over in Rio getting prepared.
