Ballot papers have now been posted to all eligible voting members. Voting papers should be in by 5.00pm on Friday 15th July, 2016. Please carefully read the instructions and note that you can vote up to a maximum of 5 candidates. Ballots are to be either posted to the Club in the return envelope or placed in the ballot box in the Club foyer.
Mosman Council Spit Foreshore Parking Permits for 2016/17 are now available for collection from the Club reception. We have begun a waitlist for those who missed out on the first batch. However, there will only be a 25% discount if we reach 30 at a cost of $260. Please contact reception if you wish to be placed on this waitlist. This waitlist will close on Wednesday 20th July, 2016 at 5pm.
The 2016/17 membership renewals have now been posted. Unfortunately some have been posted without our MHYC pens enclosed - we have had a delay in the second delivery of the pens and hope to have them within the next week. If you did not receive a pen, please collect your pen from the Club on your next visit!
Why not get some friends together to make up a table at next week's Clubhouse Sports Lunch with guest speaker ex Wallaby & Waratahs Captain, Phil Waugh and Fox Sports Commentator, Greg Clark as MC, on Friday 22nd July, 2016, at 12 noon. Click here to book online. It will be a great afternoon.

Notice is hereby given that the 76th Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club will be held in the Clubhouse, Lower Parriwi Road, The Spit, Mosman, NSW 2088 on Thursday 21st July 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Harbourview Room.

Nominations for Directors and Flag Officers were called in accordance with the Constitution of Middle Harbour Yacht Club and closed on 29th June 2016. The following nominations were received by the Secretary before the Closing Date.

Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series 4 - Race 7 - 13th July, 2016 - Race Abandoned
Race 7 of Series 4 for the 2015-16 season, today Wednesday 13th July, 2016, has been abandoned due to strong winds. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up starting from 1300 hours.

MHYC Winter Series - Race 11 Saturday 16th July, 2016
The MHYC Winter Series has begun with Race 11 being held this Saturday 16th July, 2016. The Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races.
First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Annual Skippers Briefing - Date Change to Thursday 11th August, 2016
Note to Skippers - due to a clash with Hamilton Island Race Week, the Annual Skippers Briefing has been changed from 25th August to Thursday 11th August, 2016 at 7pm. Please make a note of this in your calendar! There will be a range of Helly Hansen's new season sailing gear and clothing to view as well as a wine tasting with Robert Oatley Vineyards.
Youth Sailing - Online Bookings Open - Term 3
The Winter Sailing Camp is in full swing this week with the kids experiencing some great wind, albeit a little chillier than we would have liked, but still having fun!

Melges 20 Come & Try Sailing Day
We are holding another Come & Try Sailing day on the Melges 20 on Sunday 31 July, starting around 10am. This is open to all club members and if you are interested, please email Nicky Bethwaite on nickyb@mhyc.com.au to secure a spot.
Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week - Hot soup now available
The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our Winter treats - samosas, frittatas, pies, hot dogs! Also delicious soft centred muffins - try them warmed up! Hot soup will be available daily perfect for these chilly days!
Harbourview Bar & Bistro - New Winter Menu Available
The Harbourview Bar & Bistro has a new Winter menu - come down to the Club and try it out!
Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and Friday and Saturday for dinner. Thursday night will be open only with a minimum booking of 10 or more. Call the Club on 9969 1244.

Spit to the Zoo 2016 - Saturday 13th August, 2016
It's on again - the 2016 Sydney City Renault Harbour Series - Spit to the Zoo 2016. Long course 16kms, short course 8kms. Open to ocean racing skis, SLSC Spec skis, outrigger canoes, SUP's, Sea kayaks and plastics. Race starts at 9am with registration from 7.30am. $35 for PNSW members and $45 for non members.

Reciprocal Clubs List
The Membership Committee is trying to upgrade our Reciprocal Club’s Membership list. The known clubs are displayed on our website http://www.mhyc.com.au/en/membership/membership-benefits/reciprocal-yacht-clubs. However due to the fire some years ago, the complete list was lost.
We need you to look through the list and see if there are any other clubs you know of. It would also be good if we could add new clubs, especially interstate and overseas. If you visit any overseas clubs, please ask if they are interested in becoming a reciprocal club. Remember if you intend to visit a yacht club overseas, it is always better to get a letter of introduction from the club.
Kid's Disco - Friday 15th July, 2016 6pm - 8pm
MHYC's monthly Kid's Disco is on this coming Friday 15th July, 2016, from 6pm - 8pm. $10 per child (includes a drink & snack). To book, call 9969 1244. The bistro will be open for dinner from 6pm.
