Nominations closed last week for positions as a Director and Flag Officer. As the number of nominees exceeded the Director positions available, a ballot will be conducted for the Election of Directors. Ballot papers have been posted to all eligible voting members and will close next Friday 15th July, 2016, at 5.00pm. Please carefully read the instructions and note that you can vote up to a maximum of 5 candidates. Your ballot paper can then be placed in the Ballot Box located in the Club foyer.
Mosman Council Spit Foreshore Parking Permits for 2016/17 have been sent to Mosman Council for processing. Those who have purchased permits will be notified once they are ready for collection from the Club. We have now begun a wait list for those who missed out on the first batch. However, there will only be a 25% discount if we reach 30 at a cost of $260. Please contact reception if you wish to be placed on this waitlist.
Due to a delay beyond our control, the 2016/17 membership renewals will be sent out to all Members this week. Your prompt renewal will be greatly appreciated!

The 76th Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club will be held in the Clubhouse, Lower Parriwi Road, The Spit, Mosman, NSW 2088 on Thursday 21st July 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Harbourview Room.

Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series 4 - Race 6 - 6th July, 2016 - Race Abandoned today
Race 6 of Series 4 for the 2015-16 season, has been abandoned today Wednesday 6th July, 2016, due to strong winds. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up starting from 1300 hours.

MHYC Winter Series - Race 10 Saturday 9th July, 2016
The MHYC Winter Series has begun with Race 10 being held this Saturday 9th July, 2016. The Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races.
First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Safety Audits for 2016-17 Sailing Season
There are still a few boats that are yet to get checked for their safety audit for the 2016-17 season. All 2015-16 audits have now expired, so any boats participating in the winter Wednesday races or Saturday Winter series must have their new safety audit done to be eligible for entry to these races.
There will be another Get Checked day just prior to the twilight season that starts in early October. When a date has been organised this will be advised via the e-news.
In the meantime, if you require a safety audit to maintain your series position in the winter racing events, please contact the Sailing office as soon as possible so that we can organise one of our volunteer auditors to do this. Safety audit requirements are available on our website - click here.
Annual Skippers Briefing - Date Change to Thursday 11th August, 2016
Note to Skippers - due to a clash with Hamilton Island Race Week, the Annual Skippers Briefing has been changed from 25th August to Thursday 11th August, 2016 at 7pm. Please make a note of this in your calendar! There will be a range of Helly Hansen's new season sailing gear and clothing to view as well as a wine tasting with Robert Oatley Vineyards.
Youth Sailing - Online Bookings Open - July School Holiday Camps Open & Term 3
There is still time to book the kids into a sailing holiday camp this school holidays!! Online bookings are open for the July School Holiday Sailing Camps for Tackers and Learn to Sail Teenagers.

Harbourview Bar & Bistro - New Winter Menu Available
The Harbourview Bar & Bistro has a new Winter menu - come down to the Club and try it out!
Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and Friday and Saturday for dinner. Thursday night will be open only with a minimum booking of 10 or more. Call the Club on 9969 1244.

Seniors Lunch - Sunday 17th July, 2016
MHYC's annual Senior's Lunch will be held on Sunday 17th July, 2016, from 12 noon. Guest speaker this year is well known yachtsman, Michael York OAM. $65 per person includes arrival drink & 2 course lunch. Bookings can be made through the Club to 9969 1244 or by completing the booking form recently posted to eligible Members.

Spit to the Zoo 2016 - Saturday 13th August, 2016
It's on again - the 2016 Sydney City Renault Harbour Series - Spit to the Zoo 2016. Long course 16kms, short course 8kms. Open to ocean racing skis, SLSC Spec skis, outrigger canoes, SUP's, Sea kayaks and plastics. Race starts at 9am with registration from 7.30am. $35 for PNSW members and $45 for non members.

Advertising spaces are now available in the 2016/17 Sailing Handbook to advertise your product or service to be published in August 2016 and will close on Friday 22nd July, 2016. The handbook is distributed free to members and is kept on their desks and on their boats: your advertisement will ensure that your product or service remains front-of-mind for this important target market throughout the year at very modest rates, unchanged from previous years.
