Opportunity to Sail on a Melges 20 - Sunday 26th June, 2016
There are 4 Melges 20 sportboats on the club hardstand and another couple of owners who have shown great interest in competing in the Melges 20 fleet this season. The club has scheduled separate starts for the Melges 20s in the 2016-17 Sprint Series before and after Christmas and the owners of these boats would be delighted to take you out and show you their paces on Sunday 26th June. While we had the kids out after the Youth Presentation a couple of weeks ago, this invitation is for all club members, adult and youth alike. Each boat will have an owner’s representative on board who will happily reveal the simplicity and speed of these planing keelboats. If you are keen to try a Melges 20 on Sunday 26th June, please contact Nicky Bethwaite on nickyb@mhyc.com.au by Wed 22nd June at the latest. This is so that we can organise enough boats to be in the water and keep waiting to a minimum. The time of sailing on the day will be weather dependent, so we’ll know more about that closer to the date.
