Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter.
The first Ladies Lunch for 2016 was held last Thursday with guest speaker Alexandra Joel, former editor of the Australian edition of Harper’s Bazaar and Portfolio magazines. It was a great afternoon with all who attended thoroughly intrigued by Alexandra's story and new book, Rosetta, based on her family. Our next lunch will be held on Thursday 16th June, 2016, with guest author, Lexi Landsman - save the date!
Funds raised of $655 from Noel Ramsden's wake recently has been forwarded to Sailability - many thanks to all those that donated to this worthy cause and one Noel was very involved in. Fran Marriott's Celebration of Life will be held at MHYC this Friday 22nd April, 2016, from 12 noon, in the Harbourview Bar & Bistro for those Members who wish to attend.

ANZAC Two-Up Cup Race - Monday 25th April, 2016
MHYC Feature Event 9 is the ANZAC Two-Up Cup Race being held on Monday 25th April, 2016. Entries are open! Join us for this great race and then back to the Club for a game or two of Two-Up!
The Harbourview Bar & Bistro will be open for lunch from 12 noon with a post sailing menu after the race.

Winter Series - Entries Now Open - Race 1 Saturday 7th May, 2016
The MHYC Winter Series begins on Saturday 7th May, 2016. The Winter Series is held most Saturdays during Winter, including a 'short' series and sprint races.
No racing is held over the June Long Weekend. First Warning Signal at 1155hrs, with a Post Race Presentation. Morning Sandbar BBQ will greet skippers and crew prior to racing and the Harbourview Bistro will be serving Post Race weekly Specials for Members and Guests to enjoy.

Sail Port Stephens Race Week Wrap
Congratulations to all MHYC boats who competed in last week's Sail Port Stephens Race Week, where we saw some great results! Nine Dragons (Bob Cox) 1st Div 2 NSW IRC Championship, JustADash (Phil Dash) 2nd Div 3 NSW IRC, The Philosopher's Club (Peter Sorensen) 3rd Div 3 NSW IRC, Little Nico (Adrian Walters) 1st Super 11's, Zenith (Ian Coleman) 2nd Div 1 Commodore's Cup, Lu Lu Belle (Peter Lewis) 2nd Div 2 Commodore's Cup, Macscap (Peter McClelland) 3rd Div 2 Commodore's Cup.

MHYC Members do us proud at end of Season Regattas!
MHYC was well represented at the recent end of summer racing up to and including The Port Stephens Commodores Cup.
Commencing with the final Blue Water RPAYC feeder race Pittwater to Newcastle Jack Stening & Colin Gunn's "Stormaway" won the IRC division to outclass some of the more fancied RPAYC contenders.
In PHS, "Zenith" Benneteau 40.7 owned by Ian Coleman & Scott Beach reached the podium with 3rd overall, a fantastic result by both boats in a difficult but enjoyable race north.

YA Club Judge Course - Saturday 28th May, 2016
A half day course for Club level accreditation as a Club Judge, run by Yachting Australia, is being held at MHYC on Saturday 28th May, 2016, at 9am to 1.30pm. This is aimed at educating people who wish to become involved with the officiating aspect within the sport of Sailing. Judges play an important role within sailing ensuring on water adherence with particular rules and also in their capacity as members of protest committees to settle disputes off the water.

MHYC's Annual Prize Giving Presentation will be held on Saturday 7th May, 2016, from 6.30pm for 7pm start. $25 per person includes arrival drink & canapes - book online here or call 99691244. Awards will be presented for all Club divisions in the Annual & Twilight series (1st, 2nd & 3rd) for the 2015/16 sailing season, as well as the annual special awards. MHYC Vivid Cruise - 26th May, 2016, 6pm - 9pm
It's on again - MHYC's Vivid Cruise! Join us on Thursday 26th May, 2016, on MV Sydney as we cruise around Sydney Harbour to view the Vivid Festival. Pick up from Mosman Wharf at 5.45pm for the cruise beginning at 6pm and returning at 9pm. Arrival drink & canapes, buffet dinner, tea & coffee plus cash bar - $75 per person.
