Clubhouse Work Update
There is never a dull moment around the Club when there’s work to be done! We finally finished the upgrade and reinstatement work on Cala Luna restaurant back in December and looks like they are doing really well with the “new look” Cala Luna!
In the Sandbar Café, member Mark Little has used his painting skills to give a new lease of life to the Sandbar Bar which now looks fantastic and very shiny – Mark also has painted the underside of the balcony deck, something I’m sure many of you have not even noticed, but it did look like a zebra crossing and now much better.

Nigel Holman Race for Rum - Sunday 28th February, 2016
MHYC Members are invited to enter the Nigel Holman's Memorial Charity " Race for Rum" MYC 28th Feb. Manly Yacht Club (MYC) will conduct an inshore marathon race in commemoration of Nigel Holman, a MYC member who passed away in 2007. The event will be a fundraiser for the Canteen charity, which supports young people with cancer, a cause that Nigel was active in. CanTeen helps young people, aged between 12 and 24, cope as their world becomes a haze of cancer terminology, hospitals, treatment and uncertainty. Barefoot Ball 2016 - It's a Pirate Party this Saturday, 20th February - Last Chance to Book!
Tickets are available online for MHYC's annual Barefoot Ball, being held this Saturday 20th February - this year, it is a PIRATE party, aarrgghh!
Get a group of friends together, dress up in your favourite pirate costume and join us for a night of fun and dancing to party band, Endless Summer!

Club Equipment
A reminder to all Members – the Club is continually purchasing equipment to support our Sailing & Youth Sailing activities and we are happy for members to “borrow” items, but need everything to be returned. The items which go “missing” are everything from a screwdriver to fenders, ropes & even an anchor, so if you borrow something, please return it to where you got it from.
The Club Optimists are also available to use when not required for the Youth Sailing programs, but to make sure that we know who is using them and when, there will be a “sign in/sign out” sheet available at Club Reception or the Marina office. There is also an expectation that if you do take out an Optimist on your own, and not part of a Club sailing program, the Club will not be responsible for any personal injury, accident or equipment loss whilst it is in your care. Again the “sign in/sign out” sheet will require your signature accepting this responsibility.

MHYC will be holding a Try Class Day where the kids can try sailing in an Optimist, Cadet or 420. More details to follow.
NSW 420 & International Cadet State Titles - 19th-20th March, 2016
The NSW 420 & International Cadet State Titles will be held over the weekend of 19th-20th March, 2016 at MHYC. The Notice of Race and Entries will be open soon.
Kid's Disco & Karaoke - Friday 19th February
The first Kid's Disco & Karaoke for 2016 is on this Friday 19th February, from 6pm - 8pm. $10 per child (includes snack & drink). Bookings essential.
Sunday Sounds at MHYC
Sundays Sounds is held on the last Sunday of each month in the Sandbar Cafe. This month being held on Sunday 28th February from 2pm to 5pm with Lana Nesnas.
