Guido Belgiorno-Nettis and his team from Transfusion are now in Newport, Rhode Island, having finished Day 1 of racing in the New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup as Team Middle Harbour Yacht Club - follow them on the New York Yacht Club website or Facebook page.

Thursday Twilight Series - begins 8th October, 2015

Rocktober at MHYC - dress up for race 2 - 15th October, 2015
ROCKTOBER has arrived at MHYC. Celebrate the beginning of the Twilight season at race 2 of the Thursday Twilight Series on Thursday 15th October, 2015, dressed as your favourite Rock Star! Is it Elvis Presley, Mick Jagger, Bon Scott, Ozzy Osborne, Cyndi Lauper or Chrissy Hines? Or someone else??? Great prizes for the best dressed!

Skipper’s Briefing…Take II - 7th October, 2015
Our next, and final, briefing is planned for Wednesday 7 October as a precursor for the Twilight Series that gets underway the next night, Thursday 8 October.
All Skippers are reminded that it is a condition of our Aquatic Licence that they, or their (boat’s) representative, must attend a briefing before participating in MHYC events. For those that missed the first brief and wish to participate in the events before 7 October…don’t be concerned…a waiver is in place to ensure you don’t miss these early opportunities and can join in the 2016 Season from the start.
Racing Rules of Sailing
Following the success of our recent ‘double header’ event a Racing Rules of Sailing briefing is being planned to follow the Skipper’s Brief on Wednesday 7 October at approximately 1930 in the Main Bar. Our guest speaker will assist you unravelling and understanding the rules to both improve your knowledge and enhance your enjoyment in our events.
$10 Members/$15 Non Members.

Racing has begun!
Mini Transat 2015 - Update from MHYC Member, Katrina Ham
Having only had my entry accepted at the end of July it has been a busy couple of months to get ready for the 2015 Mini Transat Iles de Guadeloupe. Starting on Saturday September 19th 72 21ft boats will race from Douarnenez, France to Lanzarote in the Canaries. Then on the 31st of October the fleet will race across the Atlantic to Guadeloupe. I am very thankful to everyone who has helped me get to the start line especially all the Middle Harbour Yacht Club members who contributed to my crowdfunding.

Membership Renewals for 2015/16 Season - Member Cards available for collection
Renewed membership cards are now available for collection at the MHYC office. For those who are still to renew, it is not too late! There are many payment options - online, by phone, direct deposit or drop into the Club. Thank you to all those who have renewed their membership for the 2015/16 season and to those who have also contributed to the building levy to help raise funds to maintain our Club. A new Member's Handbook has been produced and is available with your renewed membership card. An oversight has been made in the Handbook with the omittance of the event, International Cadet Class National Championship, being held at MHYC over December/January. Our apologies for this error - this has now been rectified.
Kid's Disco & Karaoke
The next Kid's Disco and Karaoke, with Bop Till You Drop, will be held this Friday 18th September, 2015, from 6pm to 8pm. $10 per child (includes a snack & drink). Bookings essential on 9969 1244.

International Cadet Class National Championship - 27th December, 2015 - 4th January, 2016
MHYC is hosting the International Cadet Class National Championship from Sunday 27th December, 2015, through to Monday 4th January, 2016. We have been receiving a few enquiries regarding house swaps or accommodation needed for interstate competitiors travelling to Sydney. If you are interested in a house swap or can offer some accommodation options, please contact Locky at locky@mhyc.com.au.
Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week
The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. There is a variety of selections from gourmet rolls, quiches, toasties, pies to sweet treats of brownies, cookies, muffins, caramel slice. Relax by the beach with a coffee or a glass of wine while enjoying the view!

The last for 2015 of MHYC's Ladies Lunches will be held on Thursday 22nd October, 2015, from 12 noon. Our guest speaker, Amanda Tabberer, will be speaking on her experiences.
