Congratulations MHYC boats at Hamilton Island Race Week
The 2015 Audi Hamilton Island Race Week which finished on Saturday was considered to be one of the best ever, with a near record fleet of over 200 boats and great weather.
This year’s event included the Australian IRC Championships, and MHYC members were on the podium in several divisions:
Andrew & Pauline Dally’s KHALEESI was 3rd in IRC 2, just 2 points off the lead, while in IRC 3 Phil Dash’s JUST A DASH was 2nd , just 2 points behind Roger Hickman’s all conquering WILD ROSE, with THE PHILOSOPHERS CLUB in 7th place, and BOTANY ACCESS COCOMO in 9th.
In the IRC Passage Division Ian Box’s TOYBOX 2 was 2nd , again just 2 points behind the winner, the frequent MHYC visitor LOCAL HERO.
In the PHS divisions Gordon Ketelbey and the Wednesday team on ZEN came 3rd in the Racer Cruisers, and Chris & Lauren Thorpe’s colourful MISS MINX was 9th in a large fleet in Cruising 1.
Congratulations to all the place getters and for a great MHYC representation at AHIRW 2015!
