 Your Club needs You
MHYC relies on members to make MHYC the great club that it is. Everything from setting the Club’s long term strategy to keeping the Club House looking good depends on volunteers to make it happen. Opportunities for you to become involved in supporting and running MHYC are numerous. Volunteers can join the Board as Club Directors, serve as Flag Officers, sit on one of our Committees, work with our Race Management or maintenance teams or use your particular skills to help the Club in others ways.

 Sailing Office News!
First we had the tragedy of the fire in Cala Luna, and now we have to deal with the news that our Sailing Manager Andrew Phillips is leaving us! Then we thought that the stress of him and Mel getting married in July was getting too much, but it turns out that he has been lured away to the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron for an exciting role as Sailing Administrator for Youth & Training, where he will be able to continue to grow and develop his career.
As luck would have it, Andrew’s last day at MHYC will coincide with the Annual Prize-Giving Presentation night on Saturday 9th May, so if you don’t get a chance to wish him all the best beforehand, make sure you are there that night!
Please join us in wishing Andrew good luck and thank him for his dedication and hard work over the past 6 years for our Club.

The ANZAC Day Two Up Cup will be held on Saturday 25th April, 2015, with a Clubhouse start and finish including spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions and a special Jenneau only division as part of the Sydney Jeanneau Cup series.

Crew Member of the Year Award Nominations
This award is presented to an esteemed crew member, displaying the characterisitcs of a desirable MHYC Member, someone other crew members would aspire to emulate, and nominated from a yacht competing in a Series at MHYC of the Annual Pointscore Program 2014/15. If you know of someone from your crew that fits this description, complete a Nomination form which are available from the office for Crew Member of the Year Award 2014/15. Nominations close 1800 hours Saturday 11th April, 2015.

Join the Club now and we will waive the joining fee of $100, pro-rata the membership fee for the next couple of months, and give you 3 months free when you pay for the 2015/16 season. Do you have any old sails you can’t use or don’t need anymore? Any colour is good¬. Let us come and take them away for free and in a couple of weeks you’ll get a cool new bag created from your own old sail - for free.
