Annual Skippers Briefing - Friday 29th August, 2014
The Annual Skipper’s Briefing will be held at MHYC on Friday 29th August 6:30pm for 7:00pm.
Attendance at the briefing is mandatory for each boat competing in any race, in the 2014-2015 Season, as required by the NSW Roads and Maritime Services issued Aquatic Licence. Each boat shall be represented by either the ‘Owner’ or ‘Person in Charge’, as indicated on the entry form.
Opening Day - Brunch for Members - Saturday 6th September, 2014 - the theme is "Your Favourite Sport"
Open to all MHYC Members, join us for brunch (it's on us!) on Saturday 6th September, from 9am, to cheer in the opening of the 2014/15 season. Continue the celebrations with the MHYC Sail Past on Saturday 6th September, 2014. Brunch from 9am, kids activities (& sports) from 10.30am, Sail Past at 12noon, Commodore's Front Up Cup Race starts at 12.30pm, Race Presentation and prizes for best dressed boat and crew from approx 4.45pm.
Theme for this Year - Dress your boat and crew in your favourite sport!
Wallabies Vs. Springboks On the Big Screen - Saturday 6th September, 2014, from 7.30pm
Why not stay on after the Commodore's Front Up Cup on Saturday and watch the next game of the Wallabies playing against the Springboks. The bistro will be open from 6pm. For bookings, call reception on 9969 1244. The following weekend will see the Wallabies Vs. Argentina from 8pm.

MHYC Yachts at Hamilton Island Race Week
The 2014 Hamilton Island Race week, which finished last Saturday, was one of the best so far, with good winds and keen competition in the sunshine and blue waters of the Whitsundays, in contrast to the cold and wet weather back in Sydney.

In IRC Div 2 Craig Neil and Andrew Pearson came 6th in Elena Nova: in Cruising Div 1 the luxurious Swan 90 Spirit is not a MHYC boat but was skippered to 6th place out of 33 entrants by our own Andrew Hurt. Robert Pizzie’s Tonic came 17th in that division. Read more...

Powerboat Handling Course - MHYC 25th and 26th September
Powerboat Handling is an essential skill and prerequisite for Dinghy and Powerboat Instructor Qualifications.
This 2 day course is highly practical and develops the skills needed to provide safe training. It can also be used to obtain an RMS Powerboat Licence

Dinghy Instructor Course - MHYC 27th and 28th September
This is the final step in gaining the Dinghy Instructor Qualification. This 2 day course includes an evening session (on the 27th) with online prior learning prerequisites.
Candidates will need to be at least 16 years of age and have completed both Apply First Aid and Powerboat Handling.
Assistant Instructors that are ready for more responsibility, or someone else ready to conduct dinghy training then this is the best course for them!
Cost - $400
