Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter. MHYC says farewell to two staff members today - Nina West & Scott Saunders - who will both be sorely missed - we wish them all the best in their future endeavours. Please see Karen's note below.
2014/15 Membership Renewal notices have been posted out over the last week.  Our apologies to a select few who were posted without a postage stamp - the Club is more than happy to reimburse the postage cost!
Reminder that Game 3 of the State of Origin will be on the big screen tonight with complimentary hot dogs at half time!

Sydney City Marine Winter Series - Race 8

Race 6 of Series 4 for the 2013-14 season today, Wednesday 9th July, 2014. Please be reminded that the handicaps are count up and also handicap start is now from 1300 hours. Raffle tickets will be selling post race for the fantastic Meat Tray.

Note to Members from Karen Baldwin

Nina West, Accounts Clerk, has been with the Club since October 2007 and sadly for us (and particularly for Helen!) has resigned to take up a 4 days/week role with an Educational Training Company in Manly. Last week, Helen was busy conducting interviews for Nina’s replacement and the successful candidate is Lynda Mackillican who we expect to start around July 14. Nina’s last day at the Club is Wednesday 9th July and we will be having a few “farewell” drinks on Wednesday night in the Harbourview Bar after work to wish her well in her future role.

Notice to Members - Marina Gates Security

The Marina Gates are locked at 5pm each day but recently the gates have been left open after this time. If you are using the Marina after 5pm, please make sure you close and secure all marina gates.

MHYC Food & Beverage Survey - Closes Monday 14th July

It has been nearly two years since the owners of Cala Luna took over the provision of food services on the premises of MHYC, and we would like to know your feedback. Having satisfied customers is absolutely critical but also to ensure the overall food & beverage provided is meeting our members’ expectations.
So, please help by completing this survey with your feedback and any additional information you wish to add can be done so by sending an email to info@mhyc.com.au.  The survey will close at 5pm Monday 14th July, 2014.Click here to complete the survey.

Mosman Foreshore Parking - The Spit - 50% discount offer available now - 20 more needed!

Mosman Council has advised that the current foreshore parking stickers expiry date have been extended to 20th July. Mosman Council has also advised that to receive the 50% discount, we can only send them details for 100+ stickers in a batch.  Therefore we need every Member who is intending to purchase a parking sticker to do so now otherwise the discount reduces to 30% for the next 50 and decreases from there. We have currently another 20 permits to go to reach the first 100. Online purchases for the 2014/15 stickers at a 50% discount are now available.  This offer is only valid once 100 tickets have been purchased and only available to MHYC current Members (excluding Youth Members).  The cost to Members is $160.  Click here to purchase your parking sticker.

Notice is hereby given that the 74th Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club will be held in the Clubhouse, Lower Parriwi Road, The Spit, Mosman, NSW 2088 on Thursday 24th July 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Harbourview Room.

Cruising Division Long Lunch

The Cruising Division's Long Lunch will be held this Sunday 13th July at the Club.  Prior to the lunch, Members are invited to view the christening ceremony of Noel & Jean Parker's new Catalina 445 from 11am.

Official Christening of "Amazing Grace" by The Hon Mike Baird MP at MHYC - this Friday!

Please join us on Friday 11th July at 12.45 pm for 1.00pm for the "champagne over the bow" naming ceremony of the 34ft Hanse Yacht - grand prize in the Amazing Grace Yacht Raffle, in support of Sailors with disABILITIES, at MHYC.  The Hon Mike Baird MP will be officially christening the yacht, "Amazing Grace".

Game 3 - State of Origin - NSW VS Qld

Live on the big screen on next Wednesday 9th July, from 8pm, in the Harbourview Room.  Come down to the Club and cheer on the Blues for a 3-0 series win!  The bistro will be open from 6pm with complimentary hotdogs at half time.

Flying Fish at MHYC - news for members

From 1st July 2013 Flying Fish will offer a 10% discount to MHYC members who book courses, lessons or hire equipment.
