Sail Port Stephens - report from Swish
Sail Port Stephens sailed last Friday, Saturday and Sunday with two windward/ leeward each day proved very challenging. Not sure that we could have had more variation in wind or sea state thrown at us. The wind was from a glass out Friday morning to 40 knots on Saturday, where they raced us on Salamander Bay in the flat water. The wind was still 30 knots and Swish managed a top speed of over 18 knots. The sea state ranged from the flat water inshore to 4 meter swell plus wind waves on Sunday. Did I mention the sunshine and the torrential rain? The end result after 3 hard days was a third place for Swish in Division #1 of the NSW IRC Championships. And a wet but happy owner and crew. - Phil Clinton
