Great Results for Just a Dash at Geelong
Following is an excerpt from an email sent by skipper, Phil Dash, to his crew of Just A Dash after the Geelong regatta -
"While we lost 2nd on a countback I feel that we can justly say that we deserved 2nd overall because towards the back half of the regatta I feel that we had the ascendancy over Ikon and that 1 sec loss to Wicked across the line was all that was in it. I felt that we definitely rose to the occasion and proved we were a team to be reckoned with. To give you an idea, Shinning Sea who are now the Div. 2 Nat IRC champion, had 2 Olympic sailors on board, and had also previously held the Australian IRC title as Victoire. Ikon also were apparently almost unbeatable on Port Philip in Div 2 IRC racing that puts the results in perspective. I was really proud how everyone went through out the regatta and contributed, and how significantly we improved as a team."
The MHYC Sailing Committee congratulates Phil Dash and crew and acknowledges a fantastic result.
