Summer is upon us! The Wild Oats Thursday Twilight Series continues - Race 4 tomorrow Thursday 31st October, 2013. There will be 23 pointscore races in the Series with the final race being on 27th March 2014.

With regret Members are advised of the death of MHYC Life member, Richard Hammond, on 23rd October 2013. Richard’s funeral will be held on Thursday 31st October, 2013, at 10.00 am, at St Matthews Church, Manly, followed by a wake at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. All welcome.

 Discover Sailing Day
YNSW and BIA Discover Sailing Day was supported by MHYC this year in a low key manner. 10 potential crew pre-registered to try sailing at MHYC through the Discover Sailing website. After an initial introduction to the club by Alister Copley, Andy Brennan was skipper of the day on “Viva” assisted by MHYC Junior Sailing Instructor Laura. With a perfect 10 – 15 NE breeze kicking in as Viva left the marina, the eager participants got a feel of what this sailing is all about! After approx an hour, Viva returned with 10 happy crew members ready to take the next step in their maritime adventures.

 SAP Ecosystem Regatta for Redkite
The SAP Ecosystem Regatta for Redkite will be held this Friday 1st November, 2013, at MHYC. Members are advised to keep all t-heads free to allow visiting yachts to load and unload guests.
