 MHYC Tackers & A Gold Medallist
MHYC Junior sailing has ended another busy term with the presentation of the Tackers last Sunday afternoon and a special visit from Mat Belcher – London 2012 Olympic Gold medalist in 470 class. Mat had just come off the water from a successful campaign in Sail Sydney and spent time talking to the kids about his early sailing days and his recent experience at the London Olympics.

 MHYC Juniors go Twilight Racing
MHYC Junior sailing Optimist Race squad enjoyed a fantastic night twilight racing aboard the NSW J24 Association J24 “Whisper” and Tony Bates' “Viva” last Thursday evening.
MHYC Head Coach Locky Prior skippered “Whisper” with a his capable crew of MHYC Junior Sailing Members Campbell McKinley, Fergus Rogers, Harrison Fisk and Jenson Vincent. While Jack Hannigan and Elliot Philpotts jumped aboard the good Ship “Viva” skippered by Tony Bates and Alister Copley.

Sail Sydney – Over 30 MHYC boats competing
MHYC had a strong contingent of sailors competing on the weekend at Sail Sydney. Over 33 boats competed alongside 400 other boats including Gold medallist, Mat Belcher, on Sydney Harbour last Saturday and Sunday.
MHYC members competed in Optimists, 420’s, 470’s, Finn, Bic Techno, Access 303, 2.4 mR & RSX classes.

The 177th Australia Day Regatta will be sailed on the waters of Sydney Harbour on Saturday 26 January 2013.

This seminar is being run by the host club, The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, to assist with preparations for the 2013 Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Harbour race. It is presented by past Commodore and race veteran, Angus Gordon.
