Oscar O’Donoghue and Rupert Hamilton from Sandy Bay Sailing Club in Tasmania lead the 29er Winter Sprints Regatta after five races were sailed on The Sound today.
The breeze was extremely variable, both in strength and direction, providing some challenges for the competitors and the MHYC Race Management Team.
MHYC sailors Archie Cropley and Max Paul claimed one race wind today and are in second place, two points back from Donoghue & Hamilton. Henry Larkings and Miles Davey from Woollahra SC are third just one point further back.
Up to twelve races are scheduled for the regatta and racing in the second and final day gets underway at 1030hrs tomorrow.
