MHYC holds special Feature Events during the Spring and Summer months. They are the perfect way to take that step into competitive but social racing, fine tune your sailing skills and meet other Club Members. Racing is in various formats, with a variety of entertaining and challenging courses. Events are held through out the year, and provide a great social atmosphere for which the MHYC beach is famous.

Commodores' Front Up Cup

The opening race of the sailing season is the Commdores' "Front Up" Cup. Prior to the race is the Annual Sail Past and the entertainment of the Middle Harbour Yacht Club Open Day.
Sydney Harbour Trek

The Harbour Trek is not your average harbour race. The Harbour Trek offers two different courses which all boats get to decide which one they want to do. Will you pick the right course?
7 Islands Race

The 7 Islands Race is a fun race around Sydney Harbour on the Saturday of the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship. The course starts at MHYC and goes to Shark Island, Clarke Island, Fort Denison, Goat Island, Cockatoo Island, Snapper Island, Spectacle Island and Fort Denison again.
Christmas Cup & Veterans Cup

The Christmas Cup is open to all, with Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker divisions. Yachts that are over 30 years old are eligible to compete in the "The Veterans Cup" and Yachts & Skippers with a combined age of over 90 years are eligible to compete in the "Old Fart's Dogs Bowl Trophy" .

Chaos and Bedlam Point Cups

The longest race at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club is the Chaos & Bedlam Point Cup. Stretching over 21.5 nautical miles, this long and popular race is one of the highlights of the year. This feature race starts from 1200hrs.
Nigel Holman Race for Rum
(Manly Yacht Club)

Thanks to our Manly Yacht Club neighbours we are all invited to compete in the Nigel Holman Race 4 Rum. Manly Yacht Club (MYC) will conduct an inshore marathon race in commemoration of Nigel Holman, a MYC member who passed away in 2007. The event will be a fundraiser for the Canteen charity, which supports young people with cancer, a cause that Nigel was active in. CanTeen helps young people, aged between 12 and 24, cope as their world becomes a haze of cancer terminology, hospitals, treatment and uncertainty.
ANZAC Day Two Up Cup
Tuesday 25th April 2017
This event is held annually on ANZAC Day with a handicapped Clubhouse start from 1230 hours. After the race (either spinnaker or non spinnaker) around the harbour, sailors return back to MHYC for a game of Two-Up in the Harbourview Bar & Bistro.
