YACHT SALES AUSTRALIA WEDNESDAY SERIES

Race 11 - Wednesday 22/5

Another glorious winter’s day on Sydney Harbour for Race 11 of the Wednesday Yacht Sales Australia Non-Spinnaker Race.
Middle Harbour was looking glassy in the morning with light winds forecast, the race committee chose a shorter race option in Course 2 however the breeze came in nicely for a steady 10 knots from the south east for the 18 boats competing.
In Division 1 Steve Proud was first across the line on Swish with Little Nico (Adrian Walters) In 2nd place closely followed by Austmark (Gunther Schmidt-Lindner)  in 3rd.

In Division 2 Kerry Burke got the gun on Mortgage Choice Rumba followed in 2nd place by visiting boat Twocan (Stephen Teudt) and Innamincka ( John Crawford) in 3rd. With only one race to go to the end of Series 3 results are very close in Division 1 with Zen (Gordon Ketelbey) only 2 points ahead of Exile (Rob Reynolds) and Austmark (Gunther Schmidt-Lindner)  both on 35 points.

In Division 2 Another Dilemma is well ahead on 45 points with a battle for 2nd and 3rd with Innamincka (John Crawford) on 54 points, Perception (Charles Caskey) on 56 and Pearl 2 (Michael Twomey) on 58 points.

To honour our history The Commodore’s Black Tie Dinner this year will be an exceptionally grand affair held next door at the Orso Function Centre on Friday 21st June 2019.

I am writing to encourage our members to gather a group or come as individuals and join us for what will be a fabulous evening of fine food and outstanding entertainment by the well-known Tom Burlinson and his swing band!  We will of course be holding another great silent auction and raffle to help raise funds for the start up of the new MHYC Foundation.

So dust-off the tuxedo, sparkle up the evening gown and book your table now!
My wife Philly and I look forward to seeing you all there!

Your Commodore, Peter Lewis
