YACHT SALES AUSTRALIA WEDNESDAY SERIES

Grey skies and light breeze greeted the sailors  for Race 2 of Series 2 of the Yacht Sales Australia Non-Spinnaker Race on Wednesday 12th December.
In Division 1 it was Lazy Dog helmed by Shaun Lane first home ahead of Ian Box on Toy Box 2 second followed by Stephen Barlow on Lightspeed in third.
Innamincka (John Crawford) took the honours in Division 2 ahead of Lumine Lunae ( Raoul De Ferranti), with Another Dilemma( Jim Vaughan ) in 3rd. Lumine Lunae ( Raoul De Ferranti) also won the fastest Adams 10 around the track prize.

THURSDAY TWILIGHT SERIES

Thirty eight boats headed out in a lively nor easterly wind for race 9 of the Thursday Pre–Christmas Twilight Pointscore on 6th December. First boat home in Division 1 was Andrew Hurt on ONYA ahead of PT73 ( Stewart McGeady) and Tempo ( Michael Smith).
In Division 2 it was Scott Lawson on StarStruck winning 1st place, ahead of Gusto (Jeremy Vernon)  and Eliza ( David West) in 3rd
Cloudbreak  claimed the Division 3 win from Plan B ( Warren Lesnie) and Zeusus ( Laurie McAllister), while Peter Gilliland on Single Malt was first home in Division 4 ahead of Bluebottle ( David and Ben Field).

SATURDAY SERIES RESULTS 

It was a lively 15-20 knot north easterly breeze on Saturday 8th December for the MHYC Inshore, Open  and Adams 10 Spring Pointscore.  Many thanks to Toby and his race management crew toughing t out on Sandpiper to provide racing for competitors on the day.
Geoffrey Pearson MRX  took the IRC win in the Open Division ahead of Toy Box 2 and Stormaway, with Ian Box’s Toybox 2 taking top prize on PHS.
In the Adams 10s, Patrick Delaney's Powderhulk won 1st place in  One Design result , with  Kick 'n Chase and Another Dilemma 2nd & 3rd . Another Dilemma also winning the PHS result.
Plan B (Ken Churcher) won Division 1 from Galan and Thirlmere.  Brothers Chris and Graham Lee won the double  with 1st place in Division 2 and the J24 OD result. Coming in 2nd place for Division 2 was Waterborne Again followed by Dania 3rd.

CHRISTMAS TWILIGHT

   

 

MHYC'S 9 DRAGONS PERFORMS IN CYCA TROPHY SERIES

9 Dragons competed in the CYCA Trophy Series last weekend as the only MHYC yacht to compete.

We had two days of great racing with 9 Dragons winning both the IRC #2 Division and the overall PHS.

CHRISTMAS CUP

This Saturday 15th brings up the Annual Christmas Cup.

The Christmas Cup incorporates the Veterans Cup for boats over 30 year old as well as the Infamous Dog’s Bowl Trophy for skippers and boats with a combined age of  90 years old.

SSORC DIV 2 PRESENTATION

Last night the presentation for Division 2 of the SSORC went ahead in the Harbourview room. It had originally been postponed due to a Protest from the last race of the weekends event. In the IRC division Phil Dash on Just a Dash took out first place ahead of Jack Stening on Stormaway with Matt Hanning on Supernova in third.
For the PHS division it was Keiran Mulcahy first home on Astral followed by the team of Kerry Burke, Stephanie Cook and Rob Carr on Mortgage Choice Rumba and Just a Dash 3rd.
In the Orci division Phil Dash scooped the pool on Just a Dash,  also taking out first place ahead of Astral ( Keiran Mulcahy) with Grace O'Malley ( Zoe Taylor)3rd.

Sandbar Cafe - Open 7 days a week

The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls, fresh muffins, slices or try one of Brett's homemade icecreams. Don't forget we have takeaway beverages for sale - cases of beer, bottles of wine, and bags of ice.
