Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Series

Due to the strong winds and gusty conditions with rain squalls currently being experienced and forecast to continue during the afternoon, the Yacht Sales Australia Wednesday Non-Spinnaker race today was abandoned.

Thursday Twilight Series Results

The popular twilight series started last Thursday with 33 boats heading out down the harbour for what turned out to be a lovely evening after a mixed rainy weather report.
Tony Levett took out 1st place on Eleni TSA Management with Neil Padden’s Wailea 2nd followed by Kayimai  3rd.
In Division 2 Rob Carr came 1st place on Mortgage Choice Rumba followed by Garth Riley on Sirius and Jeremy Vernon 3rd with Gusto.
A big cheer was heard from David Laving and his team in BULA as the crossed the line in 1st place for Division 3, followed by Warren Leslie on Plan B and Max Theeboom 3rd on Caviar.
James Kaill took 1st place in Division 4 on Cutting Loose followed by the Field brothers, David and Ben, on Bluebottle in 2nd and Peter Gilliland on Single Malt 3rd.

Saturday Social Series Results

Race 5 of the Open , Inshore and Adams 10 Spring Series got underway on Saturday with variable easterly winds spilling from afternoon  storm cells providing exciting racing for participants. Many thanks to RO Toby Gursanscky’s and his dedicated team providing the race management on the day.
For the Open series IRC result Geoff Pearson took 1st place on MRX followed by Jack Stening and Colin Gunn’s team on Stormaway with Ian Box 3rd  on Toy Box 2.  Neil Padden’s Wailea taking 1st place in the PHS result.
Peter Woodhead’s XC3SS came 1st  in Division 1, followed by Mike Logan on Thirlmere and Mortgage Choice Rumba in 3rd.
In Division 2, the J24’s did well with John Crawford’s Innamincka taking out 1st place in both the PHS and One Design result.
Dania came 2nd and Water Bourne Again 3rd place.
All eight Adams 10’s were on the track with Powder Hulk winning 1st place, skippered by Grant Dawson, in the One design result. Raoul De Ferranti on Lumine  Lunae 2 had a successful day with 2nd in the One Design and 1st for PHS. 3rd place One design went to Rob Clarke on Kick N Chase.

Entry Open for Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship

Middle Harbour Yacht Club is gearing up for the 41st edition of the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SSORC).
The first major keelboat regatta for the season, the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship will be held over the weekend of November 24 & 25 in conjunction with the Super 12 Spring Regatta and Seven Islands Race inshore.  A strong field of TP52 and IRC boats are expected to make this year’s offshore program very exciting.
The Notice of Race has been published and online entry is now open via the event website.
Kicking off with the SSORC in November, an exciting new TP52 series will also include MHYC’s Sydney Harbour Regatta as round two, with the final round in Newcastle in March.

Sandbar Cafe - Open 7 days a week

The Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am. Come down to the Club & enjoy our coffee and freshly made gourmet rolls, fresh muffins, slices or try one of Brett's homemade icecreams. Don't forget we have takeaway beverages for sale - cases of beer, bottles of wine, and bags of ice.
