MHYC E News 31st August, 2016

Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter

The Australian Sailing Team Olympians ventured up to Hamilton Island on Friday for more celebrations on their return home from Rio 2016!  Some of our members were up there to congratulate and welcome them home! More Hamilton Island Race Week results are further in the E News.

Please be reminded that memberships for the 2016/17 season are now due for renewal.  If you have already renewed, your membership card is available to collect from the MHYC reception.  Those members on a direct debit will have your card ready for collection from 1st September.

Note to Members regarding bins - please refrain from placing recyclable items in the general bins placed around the Club premises as well as placing general rubbish in the bins for cardboard and paper.  It has also come to our notice that external rubbish is being placed in the Club bins - the Club is not a rubbish tip so could you please discard your personal rubbish in your own bins. The cost to the Club for the rubbish removal is approx. $60,000 pa which increases if we have more rubbish than normal with extra collections.  We appreciate your support in this matter.

The Club's Season Opening Day is on this Saturday 3rd September, 2016, from 9am.  Come down to the Club to join in the fun to toast the opening of the 2016/17 season. There will be a super fun water slide for the kids - the Sea Scramble - plus the annual sail past with our boats decorated to the theme of "Family Entertainment", sandcastle building competitions, opti races and our famous Treasure Hunt!  Following the Sail Past, the Commodore's Front Up Cup feature event race will take place from 12.30pm with a sausage sizzle and presentation post racing back at the Club.
