Middle Harbour Yacht Club E-Newsletter

Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter.  Ballot papers have been posted to all MHYC voting members, with the counting to take place on Friday 10th July, 2015, for the Flag Officer position of Club Captain. The results will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 16th July, 2015.
The Mosman Council Foreshore Parking Permits list has been forwarded to Mosman Council.  MHYC will notify Members, who have purchased the permits, as to when they will be available for collection from the Club.

MHYC Sailing Handbook - Advertising Space Now Available for 2015/16 Season Edition - Artwork Deadline 10th July

There is a limited opportunity to advertise your product or sevice in the MHYC Sailing Handbook, the 2015/16 Season edition of which will be published in August 2015. The artwork deadline is 10 July 2015.
MHYC members cover a wide spectrum of professions and interests not only in boating but also in the legal, financial, and property areas among many others.

Notice is hereby given that the 75th Annual General Meeting of Members of Middle Harbour Yacht Club will be held in the Clubhouse, Lower Parriwi Road, The Spit, Mosman, NSW 2088 on Thursday 16th July 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Harbourview Room.

Membership Renewals for 2015/16 Season

Renewal Notices for the membership season of 2015/16 have been posted to all current Members this week.  Please note that if you wish to pay online through our Member's Logon portal, log on using your membership number and first 4 digits of your birthday (eg.10 June is 1006), go to "My Account", then click on "Make a Payment".  Choose "Membership account" and add amount noted on your renewal notice and continue to payment.

Frank Likely Trust Campaign for MHYC Youth Sailing Future

Youth sailing is the key to the future success for Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Weekends are spent with a full beach of young sailors learning to sail however, the current Optimist Fleet is ageing and requires replacing. Youth Sailing, in conjunction with the Frank Likely Trust is driving a campaign to replace the Club’s current Opti Fleet with 30 new boats by summer to ensure that Middle Harbour Yacht Club creates future champion sailors and life long members.

Spit to Zoo Challenge - Saturday 8th August, 2015

Race 4 of the 2015 Sydney City Renault Harbour Series will be held on Saturday 8th August, 2015, from Middle Harbour Yacht Club. For Ocean Racing Skis, SLSC Spec skis, Outrigger Canoes, SUP’s, Sea Kayaks and Plastics – (Short Course Only). Long course 16 kms, Short Course 8kms. Registration from 7.30am with a race start at 9.00am. Sausage sizzle, great prizes from Sponsors at the Presentation. $35.00 for PNSW members, $45 for non members.

Social Events for Winter at MHYC

We have a number of fantastic social events coming up over the Winter months for all Members to get involved, enjoy & support the Club - from the Long Lunch to our Winter version of the Barefoot Ball!  All bookings can be made online - get a group of friends together and bring them down to the Club.

Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week

Notice to all Members and Guests - the Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am to 4pm.  Relax by the beach with a coffee and gourmet roll! New items for the cooler months - toasties, soup, quiches, pies, sausage rolls etc.
Don't forget that our Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights with heaters now on the balcony to keep you warm!

2016 Festival of Sails - Save the Date

The Royal Geelong Yacht Club looks forward to welcoming sailors, family and friends to the 2016 Festival of Sails. This iconic event is one of Australia’s favourite Regattas. The 2016 Festival of Sails will be staged from January 22 – 26 with the historic Passage Race from Melbourne to Geelong held for the first time in many years on the Saturday of the long weekend.
