Welcome to Middle Harbour Yacht Club's E-Newsletter.  Congratulations to all winners and placegetters at last Saturday's Annual Prize Presentation and thank you to all those who attended to make it such a successful, fun night and a great way to send off our Sailing Manager, Andrew Phillips. Our Flag Officers are going through the recruitment process for a new Sailing Manager and hope to make an announcement soon.

Notice to Members - Storm Damage to Plumbing - Alternate Toilets/Showers

As advised previously, the plumbing to the downstairs bathrooms has been affected and has necessitated the closure of the men's and women's toilets and showers.  As a temporary measure, along with the portable toilets at the beginning of A Arm on the marina, a Unisex abolution block has been set up in the Member's carpark, which has two showers as well as toilets. Both bathrooms upstairs are open and operational during the Club's opening hours. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding during this time while the damage is assessed and rectified.

MHYC Sailing Handbook - Advertising Space Now Available for 2015/16 Season Edition

There is a limited opportunity to advertise your product or sevice in the MHYC Sailing Handbook, the 2015/16 Season edition of which will be published in August 2015.
MHYC members cover a wide spectrum of professions and interests not only in boating but also in the legal, financial, and property areas among many others.

Waitangi Cup remains in NSW for another year!

After 3 races on a Norwesterly course laid beautifully by Phil Yeomans and his band of volunteers, the MHYC teams of Rock Solid helmed by Mitch Miller (sailing on Kick 'n' Chase) and the composite crew helmed by Geoff Charters (sailing on Rock Solid) comprehensively outsailed, out thought and out fought the Victorians 11 points to 19 to retain the Cup.

NSW East Coast Championships - 6th - 8th June, 2015

MHYC will be hosting the NSW East Coast Championships during the June long weekend, 6th - 8th June, 2015. Any assistance from parents of our Youth sailors would be greatly appreciated to make this a successful weekend. Please call or email Locky.

QLD Youth Week - 3rd - 7th July, 2015

Entries for Queensland Youth Week have opened. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Youth sailors to compete in a big regatta.  It is a lot of fun and huge experience for the kids. MHYC would like to be able to send a coach up to support but need to know how many kids are interested in competing.  For those interested can you please let Locky know ASAP!

Kid's Disco - Friday 15th May, 2015

MHYC's monthly Kid's Disco & Karaoke is on this Friday 15th May, 2015, from 6pm - 8pm.  $10 per child (includes snack & drink).  To book, call 9969 1244.

Sunday Sounds - 31st May, 2015

Live jazz at the Club on Sunday 31st May, 2015 from 2pm - 5pm.  Come down to the Club and enjoy a coffe or glass of wine and relax to the Sunday Sounds.

Get Checked Weekend - 13th & 14th June, 2015

MHYC's annual Get Checked Weekend and YA special Regulations Audits will be held on the 13th & 14th June, 2015. This weekend allows Club Members the perfect opportunity to have their boats audited prior to the new sailing season commencing. Members are encouraged, each year, to make their own pre-arrangements for services required, as they may be limited during the Get Checked Weekend. Bookings for an equipment audit are to be arranged directly through the MHYC Sailing Office. Call Roger on 9969 1244.

Ladies Luncheon - No.2 - Thursday 18th June

After the success of our first Ladies Lunch, save the date for the second of four Ladies Lunches. Sandbar Cafe - open 7 days a week

Notice to all Members and Guests - the Sandbar Cafe is open 7 days a week from 8am to 4pm.  Relax by the beach with a coffee and gourmet roll! New items for the cooler months - toasties, soup, quiches, pies, sausage rolls etc.
Don't forget that our Harbourview Bar & Bistro is open Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights with heaters now on the balcony to keep you warm!

2015 Equipment Auditor Course - 23rd May, 2015

In preparation for the upcoming MHYC Get Checked Weekend (see above), Yachting NSW are holding an Equipment Auditor course on Saturday 23rd May, 2015, at Watson's Bay Pilot Station. This course is for new auditors and upon completion will allow you to assist MHYC Members with their Cat 3-7 equipment audits.
